Here are some signs to watch out for.

Regular physical activity causes the body to produce more "happy hormones" endorphins

Constipation

Constipation is a sign that you're not getting enough fiber and water… or not moving enough, says Dr. Folden.

Lying down or sitting all day can affect your bowel movements. So to keep things moving, get moving regularly. Take a short walk during your lunch break or get up and move around a few times a day. Your body and bowels will thank you, according to the health news site Health .

Muscle strain

Doctor The more you stretch and move your muscles, the more flexible they become, explains Folden. When you stop moving them, they become stiff or tight, making it difficult or painful to move them around on a regular basis.

If you feel uncomfortable doing everyday movements like picking up objects, add a few minutes of stretching a few times a week.

Stiff joints

Joints contain synovial fluid that helps movement to be smooth and pain-free.

When you don't move and exercise regularly, fluid production begins to slow down and your joints notice, explains Folden.

As a result, you may feel a "creaking" sound in your joints in the morning. Walking a little each day and staying hydrated will help the synovial fluid flow back.

If climbing stairs leaves you feeling tired and out of breath, it's a sign you need more cardio.

Easily tired, short of breath

If climbing stairs or going grocery shopping leaves you feeling tired and out of breath, it's a sign you need more cardio.

This is because the lungs and heart are not used to pumping blood and working at a higher level, Dr. Folden explains.

So they become overloaded when you do higher intensity activities like running or climbing stairs. Keeping your body active is the best medicine for your heart and lungs.

Feeling sad or in a bad mood

Lack of exercise can be a reason for poor mood.

Regular physical activity causes the body to produce more of the "happy hormone" endorphins, says Dr. Folden.

Endorphins create positive feelings, bringing a feeling of happiness and comfort, according to Health.
