Fire in scrap fabric warehouse in Dong Nai put out overnight

(HNMO) - At noon on May 20, Dong Nai Provincial Police officially informed about the fire at a factory of a business in Thien Tan Commune, Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai Province. The functional forces had to work all night to put out this large fire.

Authorities worked through the night to extinguish the fire.

Specifically, at 4:30 p.m. on May 19, Vinh Cuu District Police received a report from Thien Tan Commune Police that a fire broke out at Thuan Thien Thuan Phat Environmental Services Trading Company Limited, located at Group 1, Vam Hamlet, Thien Tan Commune. The fire was at a warehouse storing garbage and scraps.

Immediately after receiving the fire alarm, the District Police dispatched 1 fire truck and 6 officers and soldiers to the scene, and at the same time requested Bien Hoa Construction and Building Materials Production Joint Stock Company (BBCC) to mobilize 1 tanker truck to coordinate in fighting the fire.

Because the flammable material was the company's scraps, there was a risk of the fire spreading to neighboring factories, forces and vehicles from the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Dong Nai Provincial Police and the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Team of Bien Hoa City Police were mobilized to the scene.

Police sent an excavator to the scene to demolish part of the warehouse and spray water to put out the fire inside.

A total of 50 officers, soldiers and 8 specialized vehicles arrived at the scene to put out the fire. Vinh Cuu District Police also mobilized 2 excavators to demolish part of the warehouse, creating conditions for the force to approach to spray water to cool and extinguish the fire.

By 5:40 p.m. the same day, the fire was under control, preventing it from spreading to surrounding areas. By 5 a.m. on May 20, the fire was completely extinguished, protecting the factory with an area of ​​about 2,000 square meters next to the fire area.

The fire caused no human casualties. Property damage is being assessed.

The police are investigating the cause of the fire and have clarified: This is a warehouse storing fabric scraps and waste, not a factory of a company making plywood from sawdust as some sources have reported.
