On the occasion of the 133rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890/May 19, 2023), a delegation of Vietnamese representative agencies in New York led by Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to the United Nations, and a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security led by Major General, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen visited the Omni Parker House Hotel in Boston (USA), where Uncle Ho worked from 1911 to 1913.

Welcoming the Vietnamese delegations to visit the hotel on this very meaningful day, General Director John Murtha introduced a number of documents and artifacts related to President Ho Chi Minh, especially the marble table where he worked as a baker and pastry chef according to some recipes that are still used by the hotel today.

Emotionally recalling President Ho Chi Minh’s great journey to find a way to save the country, including the meaningful days in Boston and New York, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang expressed his respect and appreciation for the Omni Parker House Hotel’s help in preserving and conserving an important relic associated with his life and career. The Ambassador thanked the hotel’s management for welcoming many high-ranking and all-level delegations of Vietnamese leaders over the years; hoping that this precious heritage will continue to be promoted, contributing to honoring the great leader, national liberation hero, world cultural celebrity, and contributing to the development of Vietnam-US relations.

Boston, Massachusetts, USA was one of the destinations in President Ho Chi Minh's journey to find a way to save the country, where he researched history, learned about the American people's struggle for independence, freedom and national unification, and directly witnessed and participated in supporting the movement for equal rights of African Americans.

The Omni Parker House opened in 1855 and is recognized as the oldest continuously operating hotel in the United States. Located across from the old city hall, near the cultural center of Boston and not far from the prestigious Harvard University, this hotel is a place frequented or visited by many famous people of the United States and the state of Massachusetts, including former Presidents John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton.
