In 2025, Tra Giap mobilized the entire political system to take full advantage of resources from national target programs, socialization and armed forces.

The locality has eliminated more than 200 temporary houses, bringing the total number of poor households supported to build permanent houses in the past 3 years to 303, of which 193 houses came from the national target program and other legal sources.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Thoi, Head of the Commune Police, said that, in cooperation with the locality, the City Police Department directly supported the construction of 15 houses (VND 100 million/house), completed in time for the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the department and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection this year.

Colonel Nguyen Minh Hien, Vice Principal of Military School of Military Region 5, said that the unit supported 3 houses (80 million VND/house), so far 1 house has been handed over, and the remaining 2 houses will be completed before August 31, 2025.

Through the Vietnam Fatherland Front channel, in 2025, the locality will support the construction of 76 houses, including 74 new houses (60 million VND/house) and 2 houses repaired (30 million VND/house).

Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Kien said: “Never before has the movement to eliminate temporary housing achieved such results as this year. This is a premise for people to stabilize their lives and move towards sustainable poverty reduction.”

Behind the numbers is the community's cooperation. People contributed old materials and labor; militia and local people supported the construction of houses.

Like Mr. Nguyen Van Dai, Co ethnic group, in village 1, despite the difficulties, when he received support to build a house, his family was very happy and contributed to soon complete the house.

In the same village, supported by the city police with 100 million VND to improve her house, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung shared: "From this year's rainy season, I will no longer have to worry about housing, I just need to worry about making a living. This is the first time I have lived in a solid house, I thank the Party, the State and the police force very much."

Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of the commune, Hoang Thanh Long, said: "The results of the temporary housing elimination in 2025 demonstrate the determination and solidarity of the political system and people of Tra Giap. This is both a gift to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day and a contribution towards the 23rd City Party Congress and the 14th National Party Congress."

With more than 200 temporary houses cleared so far, Tra Giap has created a “miracle” in the highlands. The result is not only sturdy roofs against storms, but also the belief and aspiration of the community to rise up, so that after each flood season, no one has to live with the fear of collapsed houses or leaky roofs.
