Accordingly, Xiaomi officially announced that it will stop updating software for Xiaomi Pad 5 and Redmi Note 11 Pro.
In recent times, Xiaomi has introduced many models of phones and tablets and sold them in large quantities. These devices all have a limited life cycle, after a period of time, Xiaomi will stop providing software updates for some devices. This decision is called the end of life cycle or the death mark for those devices.
The Xiaomi Pad 5 appears in the list in several regional variants: Taiwan, Türkiye, Russia, Europe, and the global variant; in addition to the Note 11 Pro models, the Redmi 10 2022 and Redmi Note 10 JE are also listed as no longer supported. That means these phones will not receive any future security patches.
Additionally, Indonesia's Poco X3 GT has had its software support discontinued, meaning it won't receive updates to MIUI or HyperOS, Xiaomi's custom Android skin.
Not receiving software support can expose devices to security risks. Unpatched vulnerabilities can be exploited by bad actors to gain unauthorized access to user data, steal passwords, or even install malware.
