Initial cause of gas explosion that injured 9 people in Quang Ngai determined

On the evening of November 3, Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Company Limited (DOS) had information and determined the initial cause of the explosion that injured 9 people.

Accordingly, at 1:30 p.m. on November 3, workers from the Pipe Workshop - Ship Equipment Workshop of DOS were welding and cutting at the bottom of the Legend ship's pump room when a fire broke out in the Void tank at the bottom of the pump room, causing burns to the workers.

The initial cause was determined to be a leaking oil pipeline valve into the tank. At the same time, workers were welding, oil vapors from the previously opened tank flew up and caught a spark, causing a fire and explosion, burning 9 workers. These 9 workers were all assemblers.

Currently, the workers have been transferred to the hospital for emergency treatment by DQS. DQS has also temporarily suspended work and is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
