WinCommerce expands convenience store system in rural areas

(CT) - According to a report by WinCommerce (the company that manages the WinMart/WinMart+ supermarket system), the company's net revenue in the first 6 months of 2025 reached VND 17,900 billion, an increase of 13.4% over the same period. In addition to revenue growth, WinCommerce is accelerating its nationwide expansion with a core strategy of penetrating deeper into rural areas, which account for more than 60% of Vietnam's population and still depend on traditional retail channels. In June, the company opened 61 new stores, bringing the total number of new stores opened since the beginning of the year to 318, of which nearly 75% of WinMart+ stores are located in rural areas.

According to the General Statistics Office ( Ministry of Finance ), in the first 6 months of 2025, the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue at current prices is estimated at VND 3,416,800 billion, an increase of 9.3% over the same period last year (in the same period in 2024, it increased by 8.9%). Of which, retail sales of goods in the first 6 months of 2025 is estimated at VND 2,613,100 billion, accounting for 76.5% of the total and an increase of 7.9% over the same period last year.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade , there are more than 1,200 supermarkets and more than 300 shopping centers nationwide.
