On the afternoon of April 9, VNG's cloud storage service encountered a problem, making it impossible to access some servers. Many users said that after the connection loss occurred, they received an email from VNG Cloud. The email content informed about the problem, and also said that VNG Cloud was checking and focusing resources to fix it.

According to Mr. Bui Cong Duyen, Product Director of ONECMS Convergence Newsroom, the incident of VNG Cloud affected a small group of this unit's customers, causing some press agencies to be unable to update and post new articles.

The incident that occurred from 1:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight (April 9) has yet to be resolved. The monetary damage caused by this incident has not yet been quantified, however, it has affected many press agencies, causing delays in publishing information ,” said Mr. Duyen.

According to Mr. Duyen: “ This is a force majeure incident, so I hope customers and readers will sympathize. Through the newspaper, I would like to send my apologies to customers who are using ONECMS services. We are trying to fix the problem as soon as possible and immediately deploy solutions to avoid similar situations .”

Speaking with VietNamNet , a VNG representative said that on the afternoon of April 9, VNG Cloud recorded a hardware problem that affected a Ceph system cluster, leading to a small group of VNG Cloud customers experiencing temporary service interruptions.

“The remaining customers and service groups were not affected. By mid-afternoon, the problem had been resolved and most services were back to normal,” said a VNG representative.

According to VNG representative, VNG Cloud is committed to ensuring customer benefits. In case of being affected or suffering losses due to incidents, units, organizations and businesses can contact VNG Cloud if they need more information and instructions.
