On July 20, at a regular press conference, answering reporters' questions regarding information about Vietnamese passports rising in the "Hanley Passport Index" rankings, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said:

“So far, Vietnamese passport holders can enter 55 destinations around the world without a visa or with simplified procedures such as e-visas or visas at the border.

In the past and in the coming time, in contact with partners, Vietnam has proposed simplifying visa issuance and visa exemption for Vietnamese citizens to enter these partners, creating conditions for Vietnamese citizens to trade, travel, increase people-to-people exchange, contributing to promoting the development of friendly relations between Vietnam and other countries.

Since 2005, based on data from the International Air Transport Association, the largest and most accurate travel information database, Henley & Partners (UK) has ranked 199 passports and 227 destinations worldwide, with real-time updates on rankings and visa policies throughout the year.

According to the latest ranking results from this assessment table, the Vietnamese passport has increased by 6 places compared to the January 2023 ranking (88th) and increased by 10 places compared to 2022 (92nd), with 55 visa-free destinations.
