Innovations help VIB card grow dramatically
In 2024, VIB will continue to affirm its pioneering position by becoming the first bank in Vietnam to allow customers to design their own credit card appearance through the support of Gen AI technology. In addition, users can also personalize a series of card features according to their needs, through a 100% digitalization process. This helps customers easily select and change card features (such as choosing a cashback category, accumulating points, statement date, minimum payment amount or flexible debit amount).
With the rapid development of payment technology, VIB has expanded its cooperation with partners to bring more convenience to cardholders. Currently, VIB Mastercard credit card has integrated 4 leading mobile payment methods - Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and Garmin Pay.
In addition, creative marketing campaigns, especially the collaboration with the popular TV show "Say Hi", have helped VIB approach customers in a close and effective way, spreading the message "Leading the card trend".

With innovative and creative activities, VIB has achieved impressive growth in the number of new cards opened and credit card spending in 2024. The number of cards issued reached 865,040, an increase of nearly 9.3 times compared to 2018. Total card spending reached VND 120,315 billion, an increase of more than 14 times in the same period.
Notably, after only 9 months of 2024, VIB has taken the No. 1 position in Vietnam in Mastercard card spending and is the only bank to receive 8 awards from this international card organization at the same time. Previously, Visa also honored VIB for its pioneering efforts in applying Gen AI to card user experience in Vietnam.

VIB currently owns a diverse credit card ecosystem with 10 specialized card lines, with outstanding benefits, suitable for different spending needs, from travel, shopping, cuisine, daily spending, online payment, family-linked spending, etc.

Applying technology and personalization according to needs
VIB always focuses on applying advanced technology to optimize and personalize customer experience. Since 2020, the bank has pioneered the application of Big Data and AI in the online credit card issuance process, shortening card approval time from 30 minutes to 15 minutes and now only 2 minutes for existing customers.
In 2022, the virtual assistant Vie was born to act as a smart financial expert, equipped with in-depth knowledge to maximally support the needs of cardholders.
In 2023, VIB developed a "talking card" with QR codes integrated with VR and AR, helping customers easily find attractive card offers at restaurants, entertainment venues, and shopping places around by simply scanning the code on the MyVIB app or via QRCode on the physical card.
VIB is also the first bank in Vietnam to allow customers to design their own credit card appearance with the support of Gen AI. Or with just a few simple steps on MyVIB, cardholders can choose their card number, customize the statement date and minimum payment, or set up automatic payments by percentage or specific monthly amount.
Creative card marketing campaigns
VIB also launched many creative marketing campaigns such as sponsoring the music reality TV show Anh Trai "Say Hi", attracting more than 15 billion views on digital platforms or appearing in TV shows such as The Masked Singer Vietnam, Let's Feast Vietnam.
