During the April 30-May 1 holidays, the working atmosphere at Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant (located in the Vung Ang Economic Zone) continued as usual. Every officer, engineer, and worker of the plant demonstrated high spirit and determination with the goal of safely and stably operating 2 generators with a total capacity of 1,200 MW.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Computer Control Engineer, Operation Workshop (Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company) shared: “Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant always maintains a 3-shift, 5-shift operation mode. On April 30 and May 1, we were proud to take on the task of operating 2 generators during the sacred moment - the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification. National pride has fueled our spirit and determination to excellently complete the assigned tasks, contributing to ensuring national energy security. Now entering the hot season, the electricity load is increasing, each person has a position and task, but everyone is trying, monitoring, and accurately operating the technical parameters, ensuring the generators operate safely and stably, generating about 25 - 27 million kWh/day to the national grid".

At the specialized wharf of Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant, on the morning of April 30, a ship carrying more than 22,000 tons of coal to serve the production line was welcomed.

Mr. Vu Tran Thanh Hai - Deputy Manager of the Fuel Workshop (Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company) informed: "We have coordinated with the Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority and related units to carry out procedures for receiving ships to import coal, and carry out steps to guide ships to safely dock. At the same time, we operate the coal suction machine to bring coal into the conveyor belts, process and import it into the factory's coal warehouse; at the same time, process the coal brought into the furnace to operate the generators according to the correct procedure. The demand for electricity load in the second quarter of 2025 is forecast to increase, so we continue to coordinate with the Oil and Gas Power Fuel Supply Company to proactively source coal fuel to serve the production line with the coal consumption in 2025 forecasted to be over 3 million tons".

In addition to the task of operating the plant, during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company still coordinated smoothly with the Technical Service Center and Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Technical Service Joint Stock Company to organize the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment systems according to regulations to ensure the highest availability for the units. Accordingly, more than 100 engineers and workers of the contractors are focusing on maintaining the smoke fan system of boiler No. 2; checking, detecting and promptly handling the existing and abnormal problems of the equipment...

It is known that in the first 4 months of 2025, Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant has fulfilled its mission of supplying electricity well, making an important contribution to ensuring national energy security. Accordingly, the unit generated 2,525 million kWh to the grid, with revenue of about 4,615 billion VND, an increase compared to the same period in 2024.

In the second quarter of 2025, Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant is focusing on completing the production target of 1,979 million kWh, with expected revenue of 3,611 billion VND.

Mr. Thai Van Quang - Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company said: The company has proactively developed a plan to ensure the rights of officers and employees to perform their duties during the April 30 - May 1 holiday this year with many practical and meaningful activities.

At the same time, Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant continues to synchronously implement safety - health - environment solutions, ensuring absolute safety for people and equipment; strengthen inspection of labor safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting; continue to carry out safety management for contractors... during the hot season.
