According to the Provincial Tax Department, as of July 31, 2024, the total tax debt of the whole industry is 1,332.6 billion VND. Of which, the tax debt that can be collected is 1,232.1 billion VND, the debt that is difficult to collect is 99 billion VND and the debt being processed is 1.5 billion VND; focusing mainly on two groups: land rent debt and debt for granting mineral exploitation rights; the reason is due to financial difficulties and not finding a consumer market. Currently, the Provincial Tax Department has specifically assigned each unit and each civil servant directly managing taxpayers to be responsible for regularly reviewing the list of taxpayers with large tax debts in the area, determining specific recovery measures for each taxpayer; organizing dialogues and working directly with taxpayers with tax debts to remove difficulties and obstacles, proposing measures to urge the collection of tax arrears and land use fees, land rents in the province to achieve the highest efficiency.

Speaking at the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee to compile a list of taxpayers with large tax debts in the province to submit to the Head of the Steering Committee for consideration, notify the working schedule and issue invitations to the legal representatives of the enterprises to work. In the immediate future, the Tax Department will have a specific working schedule with each enterprise to confirm the amount of tax debt, fines, and late payment of the unit up to the working time; the enterprise commits to the deadline for payment of tax debts, fines, and late payment of the unit. Departments, branches, and localities coordinate to proactively resolve difficulties and obstacles of enterprises, creating conditions for enterprises to produce, do business, and fulfill tax obligations. For projects in the area that have not fully fulfilled their obligations to pay land use fees, land rent, and mineral exploitation rights fees for a long time and have been forced by competent authorities but have not complied, based on the written request of the tax authority, consider and report to the Provincial People's Committee to reclaim land, suspend exploitation, and revoke mineral exploitation licenses according to the provisions of law, limiting new debts arising.
