The final match of the 2025 FIFA U-21 Women's Volleyball World Championship witnessed an exciting match between Japan U-21 and Italy U-21. In the semi-finals, Italy defeated Brazil in just 3 sets, while Japan also easily defeated Bulgaria with the same score.
This is the fourth consecutive time that Italy U.21 have reached the final, while Japan have won the tournament once, six years ago. Italy won the title at this age group in 2011 and 2021.

U.21 Italy started the match with more enthusiasm, but when they got into the rhythm of the match, Japan quickly shortened the gap and brought the first set to a point-by-point draw. At the decisive moment, the sharpness of No. 11 Adigwe helped Italy win 25-22.

In the second set, Japan played with concentration, diversifying their attack plans and tightening their defense, while the Italian girls made consecutive mistakes. Set 2 also ended with a score of 25-22 but in favor of Japan.
Japan continued their momentum to win set 3 and lead 2-1.
However, in set 4, Italy managed to come back with powerful shots from number 2 Piomboni, creating a gap of up to 8 points at times. Japan rose up to shorten the score but Italy still maintained their concentration to close this set 25-19.
After the break in set 3, U.21 Italy regained their spirit.

Entering the deciding set 5, U.21 Italy started the game better and at one point led by 3 points. However, in the crucial set of the final, Japan quickly refocused and caught up the score before the two teams changed courts.
However, the superior physical strength in a long match and the courage at the decisive moment helped Italy win 15-11, thereby winning the U.21 women's volleyball championship for the third time and avenging the debt against Japan in the final match 6 years ago. Japan accepted the runner-up position. In the remaining positions in the top 5, Brazil ranked 3rd, Bulgaria ranked 4th and China ranked 5th.
