Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh assessed that in recent times, Hanoi's press has been active, proactive, accurately, quickly, promptly and vividly reflecting all aspects of political, economic, social, security, defense and foreign affairs life of the capital and the country; reflecting the thoughts and aspirations of all classes of people, increasingly meeting the public's needs for information, culture and entertainment.

"Hanoi press is always a pioneer in the fight against corruption and negativity; refuting the false arguments of hostile forces, protecting the ideological foundation of the Party," the Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association emphasized.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh highly appreciated the Hanoi press for always accompanying the city in recent times, besides promoting the achieved results, they also regularly contributed ideas to overcome existing problems, in a constructive spirit so that the capital can develop more and more.

"I believe that in 2024, press agencies will continue to contribute, accompany and share with the Capital in its proud development career, to strive to fulfill the set targets, contributing to the overall development of the country," Comrade Le Quoc Minh emphasized.

In his opening speech, Chairman of the Hanoi Journalists Association - To Quang Phan said that taking place on January 29 and 30, the Giap Thin Spring Newspaper Festival - Hanoi 2024 has 18 booths displaying newspapers of 16 central, ministerial, and Hanoi press agencies, with many unique, multi-platform publications...

This is the opening event of political, cultural and professional activities of journalists in the capital and central news agencies, ministries and branches in the area, practically celebrating the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024), the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Hanoi Party Committee (March 17, 1930 - March 17, 2024), towards the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2024) and the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).

According to the leaders of the Hanoi Journalists Association, in 2023, Hanoi press proactively overcame difficulties and successfully completed assigned political tasks. Many Hanoi press agencies have focused on promoting digital transformation and achieved very encouraging and proud results.

The Chairman of the Hanoi Journalists Association hopes that the public will visit, learn, and contribute ideas to help Hanoi's press gain more confidence and resilience in the process of innovation, technological creation, and digital transformation, keeping up with the requirements of reality.

The Giap Thin Spring Press Festival 2024 is an opportunity for the Hanoi Journalists Association to honor, award, and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding works winning the Ngo Tat To Journalism Award in 2023, in order to encourage and motivate the branches to promote achievements in work and expertise, tasks, continue to explore and innovate to achieve higher achievements in 2024.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also honored the authors and groups of authors whose works won the 2023 Hanoi Ngo Tat To Journalism Award.

In 2023, the works submitted to the Ngo Tat To journalism award focused on vividly reflecting all aspects of social life, especially promoting many key political topics and events of the Party, State and Hanoi City.

Many articles have had a high social impact and influence, contributing to encouraging cadres, party members and people to implement the Directives and Resolutions of the Central and the City; emulation movements of all levels and sectors, striving to exceed socio-economic development targets; setting examples of advanced models, good people - good deeds, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; on the sovereignty of the Fatherland's borders and islands; protecting the Party's ideological foundation, preventing and combating corruption and negativity...

The Organizing Committee received 148 works (including 54 print works, 77 electronic works, 17 Radio - Television works). The final round council reviewed and unanimously selected 43 best works to award the Ngo Tat To Hanoi Journalism Award 2023.
