The High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences (University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) has just announced this year's 10th grade enrollment plan with many notable changes.

The major change in the admission method is that there is only one form of entrance exam, eliminating direct admission for students with outstanding achievements like previous years.

Specifically, the total quota of the High School for Natural Sciences is 525 (with 5 specialized blocks including math, computer science, physics, chemistry, biology), each specialized block recruits 105 students.

The school's enrollment scope is junior high school graduates nationwide. Students must meet the requirements of academic performance and conduct for 4 years of junior high school from good or higher. In addition, they must have a junior high school graduation grade from good or higher. Each candidate can register for a maximum of two out of five specialized subjects.

Another notable change in this year's exam is that all candidates must take three common exams: literature, math, and English (round 1).

In addition, in round 2 for specialized subjects, there will be an integrated subject, corresponding to the new program instead of a single subject as before. Specifically, natural science - physics knowledge and skills (instead of physics as in previous years) for candidates applying for physics major; natural science - chemistry knowledge and skills for candidates applying for chemistry major; natural science - biology knowledge and skills for candidates applying for biology major.

Math exam (round 2) for candidates applying for math majors and IT majors; IT exam for candidates applying for IT majors. Candidates applying for two majors will have to take two specialized exams (not at the same time).

Exam format: multiple choice for English; multiple choice combined with essay for literature, essay for math (round 1) and specialized subjects.

Exam time: English 60 minutes, Literature and Math (round 1) 120 minutes, specialized subjects 150 minutes.

Due to the increase in the number of exam subjects, this year's admission fee also increased: the entrance exam fee for 1 specialized block is 600,000 VND/1 application; 2 specialized blocks is 800,000 VND/1 application.
