Mr. Pham Thai Son, Admissions Director of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, said that the school is waiting for the Ministry of Education and Training to return the results after the 7th virtual filtering round. Up to this point, the benchmark scores for majors such as Logistics, Marketing, and International Business are determined to be equal to or about 0.5 points lower than last year.

However, many industries with a benchmark score of 20 in 2024 are expected to increase to 21-22 points this year, such as Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics, Data Science , and Information Security.

The remaining industries have the same benchmark as in 2024.

This year, the total number of applications to Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade is 178,294. Of which, 13,308 are first-choice; 16,359 are second-choice; 17,192 are third-choice. Notably, 41,307 candidates have applied for 10 or more. The two majors with the highest number of applications are Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Marketing.

Mr. Pham Thai Son said that the number of applications for admission to the school this year has increased to a record (nearly 2.5 times higher than last year). The main reason is that there is no more early admission, all methods are implemented simultaneously in the first round. Meanwhile, last year, candidates who applied for early admission only re-registered their eligible admission applications to the system if they did not want to register for other applications. Therefore, this year, candidates tend to register for many applications to increase their chances of admission, leading to an increase in the number of applications to schools.

Although the number of candidates and registrations has increased, according to Mr. Son, the benchmark scores have fluctuated little. The reason is that the average score of many subjects in the high school graduation exam has decreased, especially the subjects in the B00 group (Math - Chemistry - Biology), which is used to select many majors of the school. Not to mention, the school's admission data shows that many candidates have low scores. Last year, most of the candidates registered for admission with scores from 17 to 24; this year the average score is lower.
