(NLDO) - At the opening ceremony, VGU awarded scholarships to students with excellent academic achievements, with a total value of more than 8 billion VND.
On November 30, Vietnamese-German University (VGU) held a graduation ceremony and opened the new school year 2024-2025.
Attending the event were Mr. Boris Rhein, Prime Minister of Hessen State (Federal Republic of Germany); Ms. Helga Margarete Barth, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Council and leaders of provincial departments and branches.
In the 2024-2025 academic year, VGU welcomes 887 new students and trainees of training programs in the fields of computer science, engineering science, architecture, economics and management.
Award scholarships to students
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc said that VGU has initially affirmed its role in training high-tech and spearhead technical fields, meeting the demand for high-quality human resources for the labor market and the economy.
Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc expects VGU to become a new university model, playing a role in promoting the fundamental and comprehensive innovation and international integration of Vietnam's higher education system; contributing to raising the position of Vietnam's higher education to regional and international standards.

At the ceremony, VGU awarded diplomas to 227 new bachelors and 110 new masters in the fields trained by the school.

On this occasion, the school also awarded scholarships to students with excellent academic achievements, with a total value of more than 8 billion VND.
Of these, there are 41 talent scholarships awarded by VGU; 22 DAAD scholarships awarded by the German Academic Exchange Service; 18 WUS scholarships sponsored by the Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport and Regional Development of the state of Hessen and 15 AFS scholarships awarded by the Association of Friends of VGU.
