On the morning of November 15, Hue University of Economics held a ceremony to celebrate its 55th anniversary of establishment and development (1969 - 2024) with the participation of representatives of the Lao National Assembly, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training, leaders of provinces and cities in the region and hundreds of delegates.

The place that trains many businessmen and key officials

On this occasion, the Lao National Assembly decided to award a certificate of merit to the University of Economics, Hue University for its many contributions in training cadres.

At the ceremony, Ms. Manyvanh Lobriayao, Chief of Office of the Department of Culture under the Committee for Social and Cultural Affairs (Lao National Assembly), authorized to present certificates of merit to the leaders of the University of Economics, Hue University.

According to Ms. Manyvanh, in the process of construction and development, besides training human resources for the Central region and the whole country, Hue University of Economics also organizes training of high-quality human resources for Laos.

To date, hundreds of bachelors, masters and doctors have graduated and are currently holding important positions in the National Assembly, Government, People's Committees of provinces and cities and leading businesses in Laos.

"I personally hope that Vietnam and Laos will continue to cooperate to train human resources for Laos, especially in the economic field, to help Laos develop more and more," said Ms. Manyvanh.

On this occasion, the University of Economics, Hue University also received certificates of merit from leaders of localities such as Thua Thien - Hue, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai for its important contributions to training and fostering human resources, actively contributing to the socio-economic development of these localities.

According to statistics, during the process of construction and development, this school has trained hundreds of key leaders at all levels, many of whom have become managers in localities, many of whom have become prestigious scientists and successful businessmen. Standardize and expand international links

During 55 years of establishment and development, Hue University of Economics has also built a strong mark in international cooperation through joint training programs with leading universities, such as Dublin University of Technology (Ireland), University of Sydney (Australia). The most prominent is the joint training program with the University of Rennes I (France).

Professor Jean-Jacque Durand, former Vice President of Rennes I University (now Rennes University), said that in 2006, the University of Economics, Hue University and Rennes I University signed an agreement to develop a joint bachelor's degree training program in the field of economics.

The program is built on the combination of outstanding elements of two French - Vietnamese educational programs to train excellent bachelors in the field of finance - banking, with Vietnamese and French as the teaching languages.

"The success of this cooperation is amazing. This relationship is a true partnership from both sides. It is not simply French lecturers teaching in Vietnam but also the participation of Vietnamese lecturers in the program," Mr. Durand emphasized.

Associate Professor, Dr. Truong Tan Quan, Principal of the University of Economics, Hue University, affirmed that the school inherits proud achievements, constantly strives to improve facilities, create a modern learning and research environment, and increasingly better meet the needs of students and lecturers.

Mr. Quan emphasized that, in addition to the goal of in-depth training, the school will promote the building of a creative culture and develop an advanced academic environment, where students are encouraged to be creative, explore and contribute to the community.
