VnExpressVnExpress28/11/2023

35,000 sunflowers are planted along the 5,000 m2 Saigon River bank on the Thu Thiem side for people to enjoy on the occasion of New Year and Lunar New Year 2024.

On the morning of November 28, more than a hundred workers began planting sunflowers about 30 cm tall in rows in front of the Ho Chi Minh City Planning Exhibition Center. These plants had been grown in the garden for more than a month. To keep the branches upright and not be knocked over by the wind, workers added support poles and fixed ropes.

Planting sunflowers along this area aims to eliminate the sloppiness and pollution caused by vacant land that has not been invested in. In addition to the above items, Thu Duc People's Committee also leveled the ground, made sidewalks, provided lighting, built a riverside park along with piers, stone parks, fountains, etc.
