The martyrs are from the following provinces and cities: Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Bac Giang, Bac Lieu, Bac Ninh, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Ca Mau, Dak Nong, Dien Bien, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Gia Lai, Hai Duong, Khanh Hoa, Kien Giang, Kon Tum, Lam Dong, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Nghe An, Ninh Binh, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Quang Tri, Son La, Thai Binh, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Thua Thien - Hue, Tra Vinh, Tien Giang, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Can Tho City, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City.
The Certificate of Merit from the Fatherland is a certificate of merit and contribution of martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the resistance war and in building and defending the Fatherland, which is considered eligible and granted by the State; at the same time, it is a certificate of eligibility for the relatives of martyrs.
Cases in which citizens are re-issued with a Certificate of Merit from the Fatherland include: a lost Certificate of Merit; a Certificate of Merit with missing information due to blurred text; a damaged Certificate of Merit...
Previously, according to Notice No. 28/TB-VPCP dated January 25 of the Government Office conveying the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha at the Conference to evaluate the results of the task of searching, collecting and identifying martyrs' remains in 2023, there are currently nearly 180,000 martyrs' remains nationwide that have not been searched for and collected, and nearly 300,000 martyrs' remains have been collected but have not been identified.
In 2023, the whole country searched for and collected 1,328 martyrs' remains, received 5,055 samples of martyrs' remains and biological samples of martyrs' relatives.
Analyzed, compared, matched and returned DNA identification results for 124 cases, of which the identities of 9 martyrs' remains were determined by DNA identification method; 251 martyrs' remains were identified by empirical method.
By 2024, the goal is to search for and collect about 1,500 martyrs' remains; DNA test about 2,000 martyrs' remains; improve the capacity and effectiveness of DNA testing facilities and gene database storage centers...
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested ministries, agencies and localities to continue to speed up the progress, basically complete the review and completion of the list of martyrs; verify, conclude the area, create a map to search and collect martyrs' remains with existing information.
In particular, focus on shifting the focus of searching for and collecting martyrs' remains to domestic areas, especially areas and locations with a lot of information about martyrs and martyrs' graves; organize forces to search for and collect martyrs' remains domestically and internationally appropriately, assign search and collection targets in the direction of increasing targets in domestic areas.
Implementing the Ordinance on preferential treatment for people with revolutionary contributions; Decree No. 131/2021/ND-CP of the Government detailing and implementing the Ordinance on preferential treatment for people with revolutionary contributions, in early January, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs submitted to the Prime Minister the award of Certificates of Merit to 133 martyrs. Among them, there are many martyrs from the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense who died in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
