Many valuable paintings, graphics, and sculptures are full of realism, depicting vivid and authentic images, expressing the vitality and growth of the Capital.

On October 2, information from the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts said that towards the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), from October 8-22, the unit organized the exhibition "Hanoi - Vitality and Faith."
The exhibition introduces 70 paintings, graphics, and sculptures selected from the modern art collection of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum. The works have diverse materials, rich visual language, and carry their own style and mark, along with the artists' sincere feelings for the land "where the soul of mountains and rivers has settled for thousands of years."
Hanoi - the capital of a thousand years of culture, experiencing many ups and downs of history, has always been a source of creative inspiration for generations of artists with many diverse art forms.
Many valuable works of art, imbued with realism, depict vivid and authentic images, expressing the vitality and growth of the Capital, expressing the trust of the people of the whole country for this beloved land.
That is Hanoi seething with revolutionary spirit before 1945, clearly shown through the work "Capturing the Northern Palace" by artist Tran Dinh Tho. It is Hanoi heroic in the early days of the resistance war, recreated through the works "Nga Tu So Fortress" and "Cho Mo" by artist Nguyen Van Ty; "Hanoi in 1947" by artist Cong Van Trung; "Resistance Capital" by artist Nguyen Quang Phong... The heroic memories of a time of resistance of the steadfast army and people of the Capital always bring proud emotions to viewers.
After 9 years of resistance, the image of Hanoi is depicted in the brilliant atmosphere of flags and flowers welcoming the troops returning to liberate the capital. Works such as “Hanoi on Liberation Night” (artist Le Thanh Duc), “Hang Duong Street” (artist Trinh Huu Ngoc), “Liberation Joy” (artist Tran Khanh Chuong)… are beautiful images engraved, remembered, and always live forever in the hearts of every Hanoian.

Hanoi is also the land that President Ho Chi Minh has been attached to the longest in his life. Despite being busy with a thousand and one things, he still took time to visit and encourage his compatriots, soldiers, workers and the future young generation of the capital. That close and intimate image is recorded through the works “Uncle Ho with Gia Lam railway workers” (artist Pham Van Lung); “Uncle Ho visits the elementary school” (artist Do Huu Hue)…
“A time of bombs and bullets, a time of peace,” Hanoi has stood firm through the years of war, striving to build an increasingly beautiful capital. The quiet, ancient features in the works of artists Tran Binh Loc, Bui Xuan Phai… interwoven with the strong colors of the construction of the capital such as the works of artists Pham Van Don, Vu Duy Nghia, Kim Thai, Nguyet Nga… will bring viewers special emotions during the autumn days.
A representative of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum said that by combining traditional displays and applying projection technology, the exhibition space will organize woodblock printing experiences, hoping that the exhibition "Hanoi's vitality and belief" will be a valuable gift, a meaningful activity on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital for Hanoi and the art-loving public.
The exhibition is open from October 8-22 at the 1st floor of Building B, Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Ba Dinh, Hanoi.
Within the framework of the exhibition, on October 12, there will be an Art Talk program with the theme "Famous painter Nguyen Tu Nghiem - the person who connects traditional and contemporary aesthetic values" at the exhibition space./.
