(NLDO) - Ho Chi Minh City speeds up key transport projects, strengthens connections with Long Thanh airport.


The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee is accelerating the implementation of key transport projects to enhance connectivity between the city and Long Thanh International Airport. Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong has directed relevant units to urgently mobilize resources and speed up the construction progress of important projects.

Ring Road 3 is being accelerated, one of the projects connecting to Long Thanh airport.

The Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board) is assigned to accelerate the progress of the overpass section in Thu Duc City under component project 1 of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 and the An Phu intersection construction project. The goal is to complete these projects before December 31, 2025.

In addition, the city also aims to start construction of some items of the Ring Road 2 project (the section from Phu Huu Bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap Street and the section from Vo Nguyen Giap to Pham Van Dong Street) before April 30, 2025, with a plan to complete in the second quarter of 2026.

In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway expansion project (from An Phu intersection to Ring Road 2) is also required to speed up progress. The project is expected to start in the third quarter of 2025 and be completed in the third quarter of 2026.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport is assigned to monitor and resolve problems within its authority, and advise the City People's Committee on issues beyond its authority. In particular, the department needs to urgently complete the documents for approval of the Ring Road 2 project (section 1, section 2) before February 17, 2025.
