Joining the delegation were Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia, Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of National Defense Pham Hoai Nam and Assistant, in charge of the Office of General Secretary To An Xo.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang - Commander of Military Region 7; Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung - Political Commissar of Military Region 7 - and leaders of Military Region 7 warmly welcomed the delegation.

Reporting to General Secretary To Lam and the Central working delegation, Commander of Military Region 7 Nguyen Truong Thang said that the Military Region Command always thoroughly grasps the resolutions and directives of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense, especially the resolution on the strategy to protect the Fatherland in the new situation.

Proactively grasp, assess, and accurately forecast the situation, advise and closely coordinate with functional forces to promptly and effectively handle situations, avoid being passive or surprised, contribute to maintaining political stability, social order and safety in the area, and create favorable conditions and environment for localities to develop socio-economy.

The overall quality, strength, level and combat readiness of the military region's armed forces have been improved, meeting the requirements and tasks of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.

In particular, Military Region 7 has implemented many innovative and strategic policies, models and projects that have received the approval and support of local Party committees, authorities and people, becoming a bright spot for the entire army and the entire country.

Speaking at the meeting, the General Secretary also highly appreciated the Party Committee and armed forces of Military Region 7 for always being democratic, united, upholding principles, having comprehensive leadership capacity and high fighting strength, leading the building of a strong, exemplary, and representative military region force, and successfully completing all assigned tasks.

The General Secretary requested officers and soldiers of the armed forces of Military Region 7 to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement resolutions, conclusions and directives of the Party, State, Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense.

Continue to seriously and effectively implement the Resolution of the 4th Central Committee (13th tenure) on strengthening Party building and rectification; prevent and repel the degradation of political ideology, morality, lifestyle, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party, in conjunction with implementing Conclusion No. 01 of the Politburo on continuing to promote studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and lifestyle, and the campaign "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers".

Proactively coordinate to grasp the situation, promptly advise on policies and measures, prepare forces and means to effectively handle situations, avoid being passive and surprised, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the area. Continue to supplement and complete combat plans and defense plans, in accordance with the development of the situation.

The General Secretary requested that local Party committees and authorities continue to pay attention to, accompany, and support the armed forces of military regions and military units in performing military and defense tasks, building and firmly protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

The General Secretary believes that the armed forces of Military Region 7 will be absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the People in any circumstances. They will respond promptly to traditional and non-traditional security challenges and not be caught off guard.

At the same time, we must accelerate, make breakthroughs, and be determined to successfully complete the goals and tasks of the 11th Party Congress resolution and build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern army to firmly protect the Fatherland and maintain a peaceful and stable environment for the country to enter a new era of development, an era of the Vietnamese people's rise.
