According to Bloomberg , Apple is developing a series of new, unannounced features specifically for the iOS 19 operating system. One of the key upgrades is an update to the Siri virtual assistant powered by an advanced large language model.

The new feature in iOS 19 is internally called "LLM Siri". The upgraded version of Siri is being tested as a standalone app.

The report says Apple is planning to introduce “LLM Siri” as part of iOS 19 and macOS 16 next year. However, the tool will be officially launched by the “Apple” as early as spring 2026.

The upgraded version of Siri will rely on Apple's new AI models to interact more human-like. The virtual assistant is expected to be able to handle tasks in a way similar to OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini.

On iOS 18, Apple has also brought many improvements to the virtual assistant Siri. In the upcoming iOS 18.2 update, the iPhone manufacturer will continue to add more features in the Apple Intelligence toolkit to enhance the user experience.

Some leaked sources also said that Apple has started developing software versions of iOS 19, macOS 16, watchOS 12 and VisionOS 3 since July. According to initial disclosure, the iOS 19 operating system has an internal codename of "Lucky". Other software versions such as macOS 16 are codenamed "Cheer", watchOS 12 will be codenamed "Nepali" and visionOS 3 is codenamed "Discovery".
