Actively prepare for the new school year

After the official operation of the two-level local government model, in communes, wards, and special zones, the education sector was assigned to the Department of Culture and Society . Although it has only been in operation for more than half a month, localities have quickly caught up and deployed work to prepare for the new school year.

In Thong Nhat commune, the locality has 10 schools from kindergarten to high school (of which 9 schools are managed by the commune), preparations for the 2025-2026 school year have been and are being seriously and methodically implemented.

The commune leaders have proactively organized working sessions with the principals of schools in the area to grasp the situation, listen to opinions, and direct the development of plans to prepare for the new school year in accordance with the actual conditions of each educational institution. Contents such as facilities, teaching staff, enrollment, school hygiene and ensuring student safety are all given attention and focus.

Ms. Dinh Thi Huong Thom, Principal of Thong Nhat Primary and Secondary School (Thong Nhat Commune) said: In the 2025-2026 school year, the school will have over 1,400 students. Preparations for the new school year have been and are being seriously implemented by the school. The school's facilities are basically adequate for teaching. In August, we will continue to step up cleaning of classrooms to welcome students back to school.

In preparation for the new school year, many schools have been invested in, reinforced, and modernized, focusing on eliminating degraded classrooms, temporary classrooms, and rented classrooms. The rate of educational facilities meeting national standards by the end of May 2025 reached 91.88%, of which level 1 accounted for 66.56% and level 2 accounted for 25.32%.

Notably, the project to build a new Trong Diem Secondary School (Ha Long Ward) has an area of ​​over 1.5 hectares, a scale of 45 classrooms with a total investment of 160 billion VND, meeting the learning needs of 2,000 students. Many newly built items such as a 5-storey administrative block, 2 4-storey learning blocks, a multi-purpose building...

To speed up the project progress, the construction unit has increased the mobilization of human and material resources to work continuously at the construction site, ensuring that all items are completed before the new school year begins. The dream of a spacious, airy, modern school has now gradually become a reality for teachers and students of the school.

Bui Mai Ngoc, a student at Trong Diem Secondary School, shared: I am very excited to study in a new, beautiful, spacious school and will try my best to study well to achieve high results.

Recently, the Department of Education and Training has also actively advised the Provincial People's Committee to purchase minimum teaching equipment according to the 2018 General Education Program for all levels. Along with that, it has strengthened the direction of developing and approving digital learning materials, contributing video lectures to the digital learning materials repository of the Ministry of Education and Training . Directing educational institutions to strengthen training for teachers on skills in designing digital learning materials, exploiting shared digital learning materials and using the LMS/LCMS system.

The entire industry also informed the list of textbooks for the 2025-2026 school year; synthesized the demand, reported the expected number of textbooks needed for the 2025-2026 school year so that publishers could prepare and promptly supply quality textbooks, absolutely not allowing delays or shortages of textbooks before the new school year begins.

In addition, implementing a plan to support textbooks for poor and near-poor students, policy beneficiaries, students in difficult and disadvantaged circumstances, remote areas, and ethnic minorities in the province.

The positive and urgent spirit is evident in every stage of preparation, expressing expectations for an effective, safe and quality new school year, marking many proud marks and achievements of Quang Ninh education.
