According to research, up to this point, The Cong Viettel players have received their Tet bonuses. The amount of the bonus has not been announced by the military team, but it is certainly not less than half a month's salary.

Previously, The Cong Viettel ranked second in the international friendly tournament held at Hang Day Stadium (January 23-27). The bonus given to the players, although not much, was still a meaningful amount.

Apart from The Cong Viettel players who have received their Tet bonus, most of the V-League teams are still waiting for announcements from their club leaders.

A Hanoi FC player revealed that the team has just been informed of the Tet holiday schedule and the schedule to return to training after Tet, but they do not yet know how much the Tet bonus will be. Hanoi FC CEO Nguyen Quoc Tuan said: "The Tet bonus is waiting for approval from the leadership, there is no specific number yet."

At Ho Chi Minh City Club, the players are still practicing hard and... waiting for their Tet bonuses. However, a player said that in the current difficult economic situation, Tet bonuses are very risky, there may even be no bonus and everyone has to accept it.

Some football teams in the North, Central and South are also planning to give Tet bonuses to players, with amounts ranging from a few million to 20-30 million VND. Meanwhile, for struggling teams like Khanh Hoa... Tet bonuses may just be words of encouragement or gift packages.

Women's football, athletes do not get Tet bonus

After the 2023 Women's National Championship, the women's teams are still maintaining training, waiting for... Tet holiday. Midfielder Tuyet Dung of Ha Nam Women's Club said: "Even though there is no tournament, the players still have to practice fully according to the training plan. Maybe this week we will have a team meeting to hear the announcement of the Tet holiday schedule."

Talking about Tet bonuses, the midfielder of the Vietnam national team shared the difficulties with the team: "Women's football is inherently difficult, there are few tournaments, the players are all used to not having Tet bonuses. Except for some cases where they are on the payroll and can get a Tet bonus of a few million VND, for young players, they only get a small gift package to go home for Tet."

Tuyet Dung is one of the lucky Vietnamese female players to have a warm Tet holiday. After finishing the journey with the Vietnamese women's team at the 2023 World Cup, all players were awarded by FIFA with a bonus of more than 700 million VND/person. This is a large sum of money that helps Tuyet Dung and her teammates in the national team not have to think much about Tet bonuses.

"In 2023, women's football will have many tournaments, so in general, when the players join the national team, they will have bonuses to bring home to their families. But in 2024, there will be few tournaments, so we don't expect anything, so we have to accept it," Tuyet Dung shared.

The situation of athletes is even sadder because for many years the sports industry has not had regulations on bonuses for athletes. Like the girls in shorts and shirts, Vietnamese athletes who win medals at international tournaments also receive bonuses, while those who do not achieve results are determined to return home empty-handed for Tet.
