Writing in the condolence book and expressing condolences for comrade Khamtay Siphandone, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the passing of comrade Khamtay Siphandone is a great loss to the Lao Party, State and people.

The Vietnamese leaders and people also lost a great friend, a close comrade who always strived for the revolutionary cause of the two brotherly countries of Laos and Vietnam and the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos. Comrade Khamtay Siphandone was a senior leader, an outstanding and loyal revolutionary who devoted his whole life to the Lao revolutionary cause.

Appreciating the great contributions of comrade Khamtay Siphandone to the Vietnam-Laos relationship, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, on behalf of the Vietnamese Government, sent his deepest condolences to the leaders of the Lao Government and the entire family of comrade Khamtay Siphandone.

Previously, on April 3, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a telegram to comrade Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of Laos, expressing condolences on the passing of the Prime Minister's father, comrade Khamtay Siphandone, former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former President, and former Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on April 2, 2025.
