VHO - Nearly a decade ago, when Vietnamese Futsal was still in its infancy and received little public attention, Voice of Vietnam (VOV) boldly entered the game with a strategic vision: not simply reporting or broadcasting matches, but organizing - accompanying - developing - elevating the movement. From there, a professional organizational model was established for the first time: from communications, television production, event organization to fundraising. VOV's role did not stop at the position of co-organizer. With the ability to produce multi-platform content, the station has created a leap forward in terms of communication for Vietnamese Futsal. From a sport that few people were interested in, Futsal gradually dominated television waves, appeared on electronic newspapers, spread strongly on digital platforms... to reach young people and the sports-loving public.

9 years - a journey of perseverance and strategy

The 9-year journey (2017 - 2025) that VOV has accompanied Futsal is not an easy one, especially when this sport does not have a large market like soccer.

However, with perseverance, creativity and enthusiasm, Voice of Vietnam has gradually brought Futsal into the country's sports life.

The first Futsal tournament organized by VOV in collaboration with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) with the sponsorship of Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank ( HDBank ) is the 2017 National Futsal HDBank Championship, starting from March 17, 2017 at Military Zone 5 Stadium (Da Nang) and then the second phase in Ho Chi Minh City.

This is the first time VOV has participated in organizing a national Futsal tournament as a co-organizer, media and comprehensive television producer.

From the very first year, the HDBank Futsal tournament has been organized according to professional standards. From the field, lighting, electronic scoreboard to television standards, everything has been upgraded.

Each season, VOV sends professional television production teams and works closely with local authorities to organize events, ensuring safety, appeal and effective communication. VOV also cleverly incorporates local cultural identity into communication work to increase appeal.

From 2017 onwards, VOV has become a strategic partner of VFF in developing the domestic Futsal tournament system, including: National Futsal HDBank Championship and National Futsal HDBank Cup.

Since then, Vietnamese Futsal has witnessed a strong transformation with professionally organized tournaments and strong media coverage when VOV officially participated in directing and organizing the tournament.

When Futsal and media write a glorious journey together

Over 9 consecutive years of organization, the tournaments (named HDBank National Futsal Championship and HDBank National Futsal Cup) have brought quality matches, creating attraction for fans, contributing to promoting the Futsal movement in Vietnam to develop formally and professionally.

Thereby spreading, encouraging, discovering talents for Vietnamese Futsal. From here, many big names of national Futsal clubs have been engraved in the minds of fans such as: Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City, Thai Son Bac, Sahako... along with many famous players who have won the Golden Ball of Vietnamese Futsal over the years.

The annual Futsal tournaments organized by VOV have become a solid stepping stone for the players of the National Futsal team to practice and learn from competition experience, thereby confidently stepping into the international arena and achieving more achievements.

The clearest proof is that the Vietnamese Futsal team participated in the World Cup twice and won the runner-up position at the 2024 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship...

A special milestone in 2017, Vietnam became the host country for the first time to organize the Southeast Asian Futsal Championship and the second time in 2019.

In 2 times of organization, VOV has coordinated with Vietnam Football Federation and Southeast Asian Football Federation to successfully organize the top regional Futsal tournaments.

In addition to accompanying national and Southeast Asian Futsal tournaments, VOV has continued to develop Student Futsal tournaments with hundreds of matches taking place in the Central Highlands, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Hanoi... aiming to create a national Futsal playground for students and young people nationwide.

This is the driving force that contributes to bringing Vietnamese Futsal to new heights, affirming VOV's companionship in developing the country's general sports movement, creating an image of a healthy, friendly and dynamic Vietnam.

VOV's role in developing Futsal cannot be separated from the strategy of developing multi-platform content and innovation that the station has persistently pursued in recent years.

From only broadcasting live on many major television platforms before such as VTC, VOVTV, VTVCab, SCTV... VOV has promoted online broadcasting of matches on VOV.vn e-newspaper, VTCNews, VOVLive digital content system...

Continuing to focus on communication methods through social media platforms, VOV has expanded its reach to the public, especially young audiences, contributing to promoting the sports movement in general and Futsal in particular nationwide by providing online tournament signals to many prestigious digital sports platforms.

"Strengthening" to unleash creativity beyond the framework of sports

In addition to professional organization and methodical communication, one of the highlights that makes the difference of the National HDBank Futsal tournament system under the accompaniment of Voice of Vietnam is the way VOV cleverly integrates music into sports - creating a new "emotional language" and touching the hearts of fans.

If sports are physical breakthroughs, music is the catalyst to elevate emotions. And VOV, with its innovative - creative - multi-platform mindset, has done something unprecedented: combining traditional and modern music language with Futsal, turning each tournament into a true cultural - sporting event.

The song “Hien ngang Futsal Viet Nam”, a unique combination of Xam and modern rap, is a music product ordered by VOV to be produced in 2025, to celebrate the National Futsal HDBank Championship season.

With its catchy melody and strong, national lyrics, the song has taken social media by storm and has been performed live at Futsal stadiums, becoming an “emotional language” connecting players and audiences.

At the same time, in 2025 - on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of VOV - the Organizing Committee of the tournament ordered the composition of an exclusive song called "Glory on the Steps" exclusively for Vietnam Futsal.

This is a collaborative project between VOV and Musician and Singer Hoang Bach. This composition is for the National HDBank Futsal organized by VOV and is owned by VOV and Musician and Singer Hoang Bach.

Not just a simple Futsal music piece, the melody and lyrics of the song will inspire fans and spread the love of Futsal to the audience.

The song is like a tribute to those who silently dedicate themselves to Futsal - small steps but carrying great aspirations for the country's colors.

Integrating music into sports shows that VOV not only organizes tournaments, but also creates emotional - cultural - artistic values.

It is a testament to a national news agency's innovative vision, creativity and ability to tell sports stories in a modern language in the multi-platform era.

Vietnam Futsal is still on the journey to affirm its position in the continent and the world.
