Spanish prodigy must do homework after setting record at EURO 2024
TPO - Spanish prodigy Lamine Yamal still has to do his homework even though he just set a record as the youngest player in history to compete at EURO.
Yesterday, Lamine Yamal started in Spain's opening match against Croatia. The winger played a total of 86 minutes and assisted Carvajal to make it 3-0 for La Roja at the end of the first half. Playing against Croatia, Lamine Yamal became the youngest player in history to play in the EURO finals. The striker was only 16 years and 338 days old yesterday, breaking the old record set by Kacper Kozlowski at EURO 2020. Three years ago, the Polish midfielder played at the age of 17 years and 246 days. Although he is considered a prodigy, a new hope for Spanish football and is participating in EURO 2024, Lamine Yamal still has to do homework like other friends of the same age. The Barcelona youngster said he is in his fourth year of ESO and joked that he hopes his teachers “won’t be mad” at him for being absent or failing to complete his assignments. “I take my homework to Germany because I am in my fourth year of ESO. I also have online classes and everything is fine. I hope my teachers won’t be mad at me,” Lamine Yamal said. ESO is the third stage of Spain’s education system, compulsory for students aged 12 to 16. In other words, Lamine Yamal is like a senior student in Vietnam, and he needs to study quite a lot to take the exam to move up to a higher level after returning from EURO 2024.
