On the morning of December 9, contractors gathered vehicles and workers to construct asphalt concrete pavement on some sections of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project road.
According to My Thuan Project Management Board, this is the first asphalt concrete pavement in the XL-05 package for the construction of the Ben Tre section of the road. After that, it will be inspected and evaluated according to regulations. If it meets the requirements, it will be paved on a large scale.
Currently, the overall progress of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project has reached more than 71%, 0.49% faster than planned. The main Rach Mieu 2 cable-stayed bridge is 16% ahead of schedule.

Specifically, three bridges have been completed, including My Tho, Tam Son and Ba Lai bridges, and three bridges are under construction, including Xoai Hot, Rach Mieu 2 and Song Ma bridges.
In particular, contractors are striving to basically complete Xoai Hot and Song Ma bridges in 2024.
For the main section of Rach Mieu 2 cable-stayed bridge, on October 24, 100% of the towers of P19 and P20 were completed. The bridge deck has completed the beam block up to K5, this block has 14 blocks at the cable-stayed pillars of P19 and P20.
Along with that, the contractor has installed and pulled 56/112 cable bundles of K6 beam block stay cables, and is installing K6 beam block reinforcement.
Currently, at the construction site, the units are seriously implementing the construction "3 shifts, 4 teams", with 32 teams and 147 pieces of equipment, nearly 600 technical staff and workers.
Contractors are making every effort to ensure that Rach Mieu 2 Bridge will be closed by April 30, 2025, 100% of the road will be completed by August of the same year, and the entire project will be completed by the end of October 2025.
Capital disbursement in 2024 is over 839 billion VND, reaching more than 93.32% of the plan.
Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project is divided into 6 construction packages, started on March 28, 2022, expected to be completed by the end of 2025, with a total investment of 6,810 billion VND.
The project starts at the intersection of National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 870 in Chau Thanh District, Tien Giang Province; the end point connects to National Highway 60 at the Ham Luong Bridge approach road in Ben Tre City, Ben Tre Province.
