AI gaming controller can predict player's clicks

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên15/01/2024

According to BGR , recalling the golden age of console gaming in the late 90s, many people may have heard of the name "GameShark", a strange device that allowed 'cheating' using cheat codes in Nintendo 64, PlayStation, etc. games. Although the time of cheat codes has passed, at CES 2024, the name "GameShark" suddenly reappeared with a completely new look: a smart game controller that applies artificial intelligence (AI).

On its official website, AI Shark has introduced five upcoming products, including an integrated processor, a game controller, a mouse, a keyboard, and a headset. Of these, the game controller with the ability to "adapt to your playing style" is the highlight.

AI gaming controller can predict player's control movements

According to the manufacturer, this controller is equipped with sensors that detect grip force and button press time. The artificial intelligence inside the circuit board can adjust the sensitivity and response speed of the buttons in real time.

"The controller's AI will learn your habits and preferences, thereby suggesting changes to button positions or adjusting key sensitivity, helping players of all levels to perform complex operations easily. For beginners, this controller will be like an intuitive guide, for veteran gamers, this is an intelligent tool that is always fine-tuned to suit their level," AI Shark explains on the product page.

However, compared to the era of GameShark, the online gaming world today is completely different. There are millions of players competing in games like Fortnite, Call of Duty or GTA Online every day. If this AI controller is really as 'smart' as advertised, will it create advantages for the owner and unfairness for others?

But that remains to be seen, as AI Shark isn't the first AI company to make 'outrageous' promises that it can't deliver on. But at the very least, gamers are excited by the prospect of AI-powered gaming devices emerging in the coming years and how game developers will respond to them.
