Recognizing the importance of cooperatives and cooperative groups, the Provincial Farmers’ Association has actively directed all levels of associations to develop and replicate collective economic models, establish linkages, and support farmers in production according to value chains. This premise is contributing to realizing the goal of industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas.

Join hands to develop together

In 2014, the Dong Hai Village Small Industry and Mechanical Cooperative (Dong Xa Commune, Van Don District) was established. From this model, the association and mutual support in activities have created a solid foundation for the members of the group to promote their strengths, production and business are increasingly prosperous, contributing to the development of the locality. Mr. Luong Xuan Dau, Head of the Dong Hai Village Small Industry and Mechanical Cooperative, said: When undertaking construction projects, we will introduce each other to have more work. For example, our facility constructs aluminum and glass, and will accept additional carpentry work for the carpentry facility, so the members support each other and develop together.

Working together for sustainable development is also the direction of the members of Toan Thang Cooperative (Tan Binh Commune, Dam Ha District). Although it was only established in 2023, the members of the Cooperative meet very regularly, with the goal of exchanging and sharing experiences in planting and caring for fruit trees, accessing capital sources, policies on developing economic models, product output, as well as applying science and technology to production.

Currently, the cooperative has 15 members, with a cultivation area of ​​about 6 hectares, mainly growing fruit trees such as oranges, apples, etc. The average income of each household is 60-80 million VND/year. Mr. Bui Tho Hoai, a member of Toan Thang Cooperative, said: We maintain an exchange channel through the zalo group, information about weather, farming, and care experiences are shared by members. The goal is to build a community of quality fruit tree growers, developing together sustainably.

Up to now, the province has more than 650 cooperatives and cooperative groups in the agricultural sector. In recent times, cooperatives and cooperative groups in the province have made new progress in terms of quantity and quality; their activities have been improved with many types of services, creating conditions for members and farming households to shift the structure of crops and livestock, improve productivity and product quality, and promote production and business development in rural areas.

To ensure the collective economy operates with confidence

Identifying the collective economy as an important component of the agricultural sector, in recent times, the provincial Farmers' Associations at all levels have focused on directing and implementing many activities to advise, guide the establishment and support collective economic models; in which, focusing on propaganda, raising awareness for members and farmers, creating a shift from individual production to association, cooperation and expansion of scale. From 2020 to present, Farmers' Associations at all levels in the province have directly advised and supported the establishment of 71 cooperatives and 70 cooperative groups, operating mainly in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, trade, services, etc.

The activities of Hoang Nam Safe Food Production and Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Trade Services Cooperative (Mong Cai City) are contributing to the development of the Mong Cai Pig brand.

Mr. Do Ngoc Nam, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, said: Reality shows that the cooperative and cooperative groups consulted, guided, supported and oriented by the Farmers' Association are basically operating effectively. Members are always closely linked in production and business, helping each other with knowledge, experience, capital, and creating jobs for many local workers.

In 2022, under the guidance and advice of the Mong Cai City Farmers' Association, the Hoang Nam Safe Food Production and Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Trade Services Cooperative was established. Up to now, the Cooperative is one of the units producing and raising Mong Cai pigs with scale and experience in the city. The Cooperative's activities are also contributing to raising the brand of Mong Cai Pig in the locality. Director of the Cooperative Bui Thi My Le said: Currently, the Cooperative is maintaining links with 36 households in the area to provide breeding stock, care techniques and support product consumption. On average, each year the Cooperative brings to the market more than 1,000 breeding stock to households.

In addition to accompanying and guiding the establishment of cooperatives and cooperative groups, farmers' associations at all levels in the province also closely follow the activities of collective economic entities to advise, disseminate and implement mechanisms and policies related to loans, scientific and technical training, and connecting output consumption for cooperatives and cooperative groups.

Duc Hau Agricultural, Forestry, Fishery, Trade and General Service Cooperative (Quang Yen Town) has a stable consumer market with a production capacity of about 1,000 nem chua and nem nam/day. In addition to focusing on quality in the production process, the Cooperative also focuses on promoting its brand at local and provincial fairs. Ms. Vu Thi Huong, Director of the Cooperative, said: The Provincial and Town Farmers' Associations always pay attention and create conditions for the Cooperative to participate in fair booths nationwide. Thanks to that, the Cooperative's products are not only known to Quang Ninh consumers, but also have outlets in other provinces and cities.

The Provincial Farmers' Association is striving to advise and support the establishment of at least 30 new cooperatives and 20 agricultural cooperative groups by 2030; improving the quality of operations of cooperatives and cooperative groups. To achieve this, the Provincial Farmers' Association will direct all levels of the association to encourage, mobilize, and guide farming households in production and business, and excellent farmers to be the core and nucleus of establishing agricultural cooperatives and cooperative groups. At the same time, synchronously deploy support solutions, capital, management skills, science and technology... for cooperative and cooperative group members.
