On the morning of May 16, the Central Propaganda Department held the Central Reporters Conference for May 2024 to provide current information to the team of reporters and propagandists at the grassroots level and to guide propaganda in the coming time. The conference was held in person in Hanoi and online to more than 1,700 locations nationwide with nearly 64,000 delegates attending.

Comrade Phan Xuan Thuy - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department chaired the conference in Hanoi.

At the conference, delegates listened to Major General Pham Cong Nguyen - Director of the Department of Legislation and Administrative and Judicial Reform, Ministry of Public Security, inform on the topic "Important contents of the Law on Identification, Law on Forces participating in protecting security and order (ANTT) at the grassroots level and 5 Law projects chaired by the Ministry of Public Security, advising to submit to the National Assembly at the 7th Session, 15th National Assembly".

In particular, the 2023 Law on Identification (consisting of 7 chapters and 46 articles) has a number of new points compared to the 2014 Law on Citizen Identification, such as: changing the name of the Law on Citizen Identification to the Law on Identification, the Citizen Identification card is changed to the Identification card, there is no longer information about hometown and fingerprints on the Identification card...

The Law on Forces Participating in Protecting Security and Order at the Grassroots Level in 2023 consists of 5 chapters and 33 articles, which specifically stipulates the forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level, principles, organization of activities, standards, conditions for participating in this force, main tasks of this force, operating costs and equipment for the forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level.

In addition to the two laws above, the reporter also informed about the meaning, new points, and basic content of the draft laws chaired and advised by the Ministry of Public Security to submit to the National Assembly.

At the conference, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Danh Huy informed about the topic "Building a synchronous infrastructure to basically turn our country into a modern industrialized country in the spirit of Conclusion No. 72-KL/TW dated February 23, 2024 of the Politburo".

Accordingly, the common and consistent viewpoint is to plan the development of a modern and synchronous economic and social infrastructure system nationwide, in each industry, region and locality, meeting the requirements of industrialization and modernization of the country; with investment phases, prioritizing important projects to create breakthroughs and have large spillover effects.

Strengthening management in the exploitation and use of works. At the same time, strongly mobilizing all social resources, ensuring reasonable benefits to attract investors, including foreign investors, to develop economic and social infrastructure; at the same time, continuing to allocate state capital to focus on investing in essential and important works that are difficult to mobilize social resources, closely combining with ensuring national defense and security; narrowing regional and local gaps; associated with saving cultivated land, protecting the environment, green growth and responding to climate change...

Orienting propaganda and concluding the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Phan Xuan Thuy requested the Propaganda Departments of provincial and municipal Party Committees, Party Committees directly under the Central Committee, socio-political organizations, reporters at all levels and grassroots propagandists to focus on propagating the contents that the reporters had informed at the conference to cadres, party members and people of all walks of life.

At the same time, the Propaganda Department at all levels continues to advise on plans to disseminate and thoroughly understand the Party's directives and resolutions, the results of the socio-economic development situation in the first months of 2024, the socio-economic development tasks in the coming time; and disseminate the results of the 9th conference of the 13th Party Central Committee and the 7th session of the 15th National Assembly.
