Accordingly, the loan amount for those who have completed their prison sentences in Tam Ky City will be increased by 120 million VND and in Dien Ban Town by 80 million VND.

Mr. Hoang Thanh Lan - Head of Planning - Credit Operations Department (Quang Nam Branch of the Bank for Social Policies) said that up to now, the whole province has disbursed 1.2 billion VND of the loan program for people who have completed their prison sentences.

According to Decision 22 of the Prime Minister, effective from October 10, people who have completed their prison sentences and production and business establishments that employ people who have completed their prison sentences can borrow capital from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies for vocational training, production, business and job creation.

The maximum loan for vocational training is 4 million VND/month/person; the maximum loan for production, business and job creation is 100 million VND/person, 2 billion VND/project and not more than 100 million VND/worker at the facility. The loan interest rate is equal to the loan interest rate for poor households prescribed for each period (currently 6.6%/year).

Policy credit for people who have completed their prison sentences is a humane policy, creating conditions for families with people who have completed their prison terms to access capital for vocational training, production, business, and have a source of income to stabilize their lives, thereby contributing to reducing the crime rate, ensuring security, social order and safety.
