On October 30, the State Bank - Quang Binh Branch said that in order to effectively implement the State and the province's policy on "cashless development", the State Bank - Quang Binh Branch has coordinated with the People's Committee of Dong Hoi City to develop a plan to "Implement QR Code payment coverage throughout Dong Hoi City".

According to Mr. Hoang Ngoc Dan - Chairman of Dong Hoi City People's Committee, the plan aims to create a positive change in non-cash payment in general and QR Code payment in particular into the habit of people, businesses, business households and small traders in the city, reducing social costs related to cash.

Mr. Luong Hai Luu - Deputy Director in charge of the State Bank - Quang Binh Branch said that in the current era of 4.0 technology, cashless payment is becoming an inevitable trend, due to many obvious benefits for people, businesses and the economy. Therefore, payment via QR Code is a new payment solution that is attracting the attention of many authorities, experts and people.

Accordingly, the target of the plan to deploy QR Code payment coverage throughout Dong Hoi City by June 30, 2024 is that over 90% of people aged 15 and over have a transaction account at a bank; 100% of businesses, business households, small traders, and service providers have QR Code payment acceptance points; increase access to payment services, increase the number of QR Code payment acceptance points to over 12,000 points; the growth rate in quantity and value of QR Code payment transactions is over 40%/year.
