(Fatherland) - The program "Green Banh Chung - Tet for the poor" in 2025 will take place on January 19, 2025, the 20th day of the 12th lunar month.
This is an annual activity organized by the Management Board of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, demonstrating solidarity, mutual love, and joining hands to continue and promote the tradition of "helping each other", sharing the spirit of welcoming the traditional Tet At Ty 2025 with warmth and affection, towards a peaceful and good new year.

Participating in the Chung cake wrapping were about 200 delegates and guests from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, units of the Management Board, organizations, individuals, and representatives of 16 ethnic communities regularly operating at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village.
At the program, the organizing committee will award 660 gifts (each gift bag worth from 1 to 2 million VND) from the mobilized funding to give to policy beneficiaries, disadvantaged households in Dinh Tien commune, Yen Dinh district, Thanh Hoa province (200 gifts); Ninh Lai commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province (150 gifts); Son Tay town, Thach That district, Ba Vi, Hanoi (50 gifts); Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin victims in Ba Trai commune, Ba Vi district (100 gifts); Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin victims in Muoi hamlet, Yen Bai commune, Son Tay town, Hanoi city (50 gifts) and people living daily at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village (110 gifts).

The program "Green Chung Cake - Tet for the Poor" introduces to domestic and foreign tourists the unique cultural features in the traditional Tet celebration of the Vietnamese people, especially among the young generation and ethnic communities, contributing to preserving, maintaining and promoting the traditional cultural values of Vietnamese ethnic groups. At the same time, it strengthens the building and consolidation of the great solidarity of Vietnamese ethnic groups, encourages the spirit of excitement, and welcomes the New Year with a new spirit of the Vietnamese ethnic community. Thereby educating generations of Vietnamese people about the sense of responsibility in preserving, maintaining and promoting the traditional cultural identity of the nation.
The program also included the activity of erecting a New Year's tree. According to the traditional customs of the Kinh people, erecting a New Year's tree is to worship the gods, express the sentiment of remembering the source of water, ward off bad things of the old year, protect a peaceful life for people and welcome a traditional New Year of peace and happiness with the wish for more innovation and more success.
