Ha Tinh's professional sector is strengthening control of animal slaughtering activities with the goal of ensuring disease safety in livestock and food safety before, during and after Tet.
On the evening of December 27 and early morning of December 28, 2023, a working delegation from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Ha Tinh, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Center for Application of Science and Technology and Protection of Plants and Livestock of Can Loc district were present directly at the centralized slaughterhouse of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dam (Nam Son residential group, Nghen town) to inspect and control the slaughter of livestock.
This slaughterhouse has been in operation since 2016, slaughtering about 25 pigs per day. Here, specialized units have inspected the overall facilities, records, documents, and slaughtering activities to ensure they follow the correct procedures and regulations of the specialized sector...
The working group inspected the slaughterhouse of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dam (Nghen town, Can Loc).
According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dam, the facility provides the necessary conditions for local people to follow slaughtering procedures that ensure veterinary hygiene, food safety, and environmental hygiene. The slaughterhouse focuses on implementing disinfection and sterilization measures to ensure environmental hygiene and disease safety in livestock farming.
According to the reporter's observation, at Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dam's centralized slaughterhouse, the officers in charge of slaughter control are always on duty to strictly control the entry of livestock into the slaughterhouse; check the process before, during and after slaughter and stamp the slaughter control before people bring the products to market.
It is known that during this inspection, 4 slaughterhouses in Can Loc district (Nghen town, Dong Loc town, Kim Song Truong commune and Khanh Vinh Yen commune) were all strictly inspected by specialized agencies. In addition, the authorities also inspected the trading of livestock and poultry products at some markets in Can Loc district.

In case of detecting illegal imported animals, they must be re-exported or destroyed immediately, and at the same time, organizations and individuals who violate the regulations must be strictly handled. In addition, the locality will continue to promote propaganda and mobilize people not to participate in or assist in the transportation and trading of illegally imported animals and animal products into the area; direct and assign forces to organize inspection and close supervision at trading, collection and slaughter establishments to trace the origin of animals and animal products, and strictly handle violations according to regulations".

Most of the slaughterhouses are located far from residential areas and public works; the average area is about 3,000 m2 /facility. Basic construction items are invested in and constructed according to the instructions of the professional sector. The area serving slaughter activities according to the planning of localities is from 5 - 7 communes/facility.
