Strengthening cooperation to build a peaceful and friendly Vietnam-China border

On the afternoon of October 18, in Lao Cai city, 4 Border Guard Stations, Lao Cai International Border Gate, Bat Xat, Muong Khuong and Pha Long (Lao Cai, Vietnam) had a meeting with the Hekou Immigration Border Control Station (Yunnan, China).

At the meeting, the two sides evaluated the coordination work of the border stations with the Hekou Immigration Border Control Station and Sub-stations in the past time.

Accordingly, in recent times, the two sides' forces have closely coordinated in border gate management, immigration control, and the fight against cross-border crimes.

The two sides have regularly informed each other of issues arising at border gates and on the border, thereby coordinating to properly resolve issues arising right from the grassroots level.

Lieutenant Colonel Vu Tran Minh Dat, Head of the delegation representing 4 Lao Cai border stations, welcomed Comrade Ly Khai, Head of the Hekou Immigration Border Control Station (China).

The two sides also agreed and reached a consensus that in the coming time, they will continue to maintain and strengthen the signed cooperation mechanisms such as: talks, information exchange, liaison officers; hotline phone, handling emergency situations at the border and border gates; handover and return; friendly exchanges; voting for Vietnam-China friendship ambassadors, coordinating the dissemination of laws, strictly complying with the three legal documents on borders and border gates.

At the meeting, the two sides agreed to report to their superiors to allow the organization of exchange activities, discussions, observations, ways to distinguish and recognize fake documents, actively carry out exchange activities, foster border guard skills, and join hands to build Lao Cai (Vietnam) and Hekou (China) border gates into a model of border gate cooperation on the Vietnam-China land border.

The two sides discussed and coordinated the implementation of methods for managing vehicles entering and exiting the country, strengthening the guidance and regulation of vehicles entering in an orderly, scientific and reasonable manner, ensuring smooth and quick flow, and avoiding vehicles stopping and parking for long periods on the Kim Thanh-Bac Son bridge, which could affect the safety of the bridge.
