Author Nguyen Khanh Chi: I am very happy to share my work with readers around the world.

- Reporter: Hello Nguyen Khanh Chi, I know that you are only 11 years old this year but have recently published your first novel Magic Runs Wild entirely in English. The book was published by a Canadian publisher and distributed globally, and also released on other international book distribution channels such as: Google book, Library wala. So what is the reason for you to write?

+ Author Nguyen Khanh Chi: I am a passionate writer. I recently published my first novel Magic Runs Wild inspired by Harry Potter and I am excited to share it with readers around the world.

- Reporter: What motivated you to pick up the pen and write this book?

+ Author Nguyen Khanh Chi: I was inspired by my love of magical stories, especially Harry Potter, which sparked my imagination. I wanted to create a world of my own where magic runs free and characters face interesting challenges. The process of building that world and developing the characters motivated me to continue writing and bring "Magic Runs Wild" to life.

- Reporter: Could you briefly share the content of the book and the message you want to send to readers?

+ Author Nguyen Khanh Chi: The novel revolves around a school of fairies, where students are divided into different houses according to their magical abilities: Water, Fire, Nature, Ice, Darkness and Light.

The two main characters, Lysandra and Isadora, are new students and are chosen to attend the Light House. The two quickly become close friends and experience many conflicts with other students during their studies. When the school encounters an incident, Lysandra and Isadora defy the rules and use all their abilities to protect the safety of the school.

Through the story, I want to show readers that even if we have special talents or face great challenges, what really matters is how we use our strengths to help others and be true to ourselves. It is about maturity, friendship and the importance of kindness. It also shows the importance of friendship and courage in difficult times.

- Reporter: What were the advantages and disadvantages of writing a rather long book at the age of 11?

+ Author Nguyen Khanh Chi: Writing a longer book at the age of 11 had its ups and downs. One big advantage was that I had a lot of creative ideas and energy to put into my story. But I also faced some challenges, such as getting stuck when I didn’t know what to write next. When that happened, I would take a break, do something fun, or watch a movie.

- Reporter: When you finish the book, what do you expect for your work?

+ Author Nguyen Khanh Chi: When I finish reading the book, I hope that readers will find it engaging and interesting. I want them to enjoy the adventure and feel connected to the characters' journey. My main hope is simply that they have a good time reading it.

- Reporter: You published this book when you were only 11 years old and it reached readers around the world. Do you intend to publish your work in Vietnamese in Vietnam (why?)

+ Author Nguyen Khanh Chi: I am thinking about publishing my book in Vietnamese because I want readers in Vietnam to have a chance to enjoy it. I believe the story can connect with them, but I want to wait and see how the first release goes. If there is interest, I will definitely consider it.

Writer Kieu Bich Hau: This is the result of a passion for writing nurtured through an international educational environment.

- Reporter: Why did the writer choose to be the "bridge" for the first novel "Magic Runs Wild" published entirely in English by 11-year-old author Nguyen Khanh Chi to be published globally?

+ Writer Kieu Bich Hau: Nguyen Khanh Chi's work "Magic Runs Wild" stands out for her ability to use English fluently and naturally, even though the author is only 11 years old. Writing a novel in a second language with precise language, few grammatical errors, and a rich vocabulary has shown Khanh Chi's proficiency in using foreign languages. This is the result of her passion for writing nurtured through the international educational environment where she studied, which gave her the opportunity to be in regular contact with English, using written English better than her mother tongue. This is a great advantage, helping Khanh Chi confidently bring her work to the world without going through the translation process.

- Reporter: As a writer and translator, can you evaluate this work?

+ Writer Kieu Bich Hau : With "Magic Runs Wild", Nguyen Khanh Chi has proven her creativity and rich imagination. Although it is her first work, Khanh Chi knows how to arrange the plot in a reasonable way, with unexpected and engaging twists. The fictional content of the story is attractive to students and can even attract adults. By expressing coherently and in detail, the images and events in the novel are meticulously depicted, clearly demonstrating the talent of a young author. This is a good stepping stone for Khanh Chi to develop her creative writing career.

- Reporter: Can the writer reveal the reasons why foreign publishers accept manuscripts by Vietnamese authors in general and specifically the work "Magic Runs Wild" by Nguyen Khanh Chi?

+ Writer Kieu Bich Hau: The fact that a foreign publisher accepted the manuscript of a Vietnamese author like Khanh Chi, especially with the work "Magic Runs Wild", comes from the literary quality and the ability to express in almost perfect English. The work has attractive, dramatic content, written with a standard language style, making the manuscript attractive right from the first reading. The author is young but has shown the ability to create and convey messages through a global language, opening up opportunities for Vietnamese works to be accepted internationally, opening up a hope that Vietnamese literature in the future, with the rise of bilingual students, will no longer be "the sleeping beauty" to international readers.

-PV: Do writers hope we will have a generation of global writers?

+ Writer Kieu Bich Hau: With representatives like Khanh Chi, it definitely is.
