Many years ago, Mr. Hoang Quang Cong's family, Cao Lan ethnic group, Phuc Loc village, Phuc Ung commune, faced many difficulties in life. The reason was that the family had 6 members, the mother was over 90 years old, the sister was over 60 years old and not very agile, the couple's son was paralyzed in a traffic accident, the family only had one person as the main laborer. Meanwhile, the family's old house was seriously degraded and there was no money to rebuild or repair it.
Faced with difficult circumstances, in February 2023, the District Fatherland Front Committee called on and mobilized the Provincial Veterans Association to support 50 million VND, and people in the commune helped with working days to build the house. After nearly 4 months of construction, the house was completed in the joy and happiness of the family. The house has an area of over 120m2, including 4 bedrooms, a living room and auxiliary works. Mr. Cong shared that with the support of the Provincial Veterans Association and the help of his relatives, he and his wife were able to build a spacious house worth nearly 600 million VND. This is a great joy, encouraging the family to strive to overcome the situation.

Of which, 1,189 houses were rebuilt and 54 houses were repaired. In 2023 alone, 388 houses were built and repaired for households. In addition to the support money according to the project, communes and towns have proactively mobilized businesses, philanthropists, relatives, and communities to support additional money and materials for households with special difficulties, unable to complete the construction themselves with a converted amount of over 14 billion VND and over 4,000 working days to help poor households build houses.
Thanks to the attention, support and active participation of all levels, sectors and philanthropists, poor households have soon eliminated temporary and dilapidated houses, stabilized their lives and risen out of poverty. This result is of great significance, creating trust and promoting the efforts and responsibilities of each poor household in building houses and escaping poverty sustainably.
