The image of Lao Cai police officers will forever shine in the hearts of the people.

Over 80 years of building, fighting and growing, the Lao Cai Provincial Police force has always been absolutely loyal to the Party, wholeheartedly serving the Fatherland and the People. Thousands of brave officers and soldiers, dedicated day and night, ready to sacrifice for the cause of protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety, have contributed to maintaining a peaceful life for the People.

Not only are they steadfast on the front of crime prevention and control, protecting border sovereignty and security, they also leave deep impressions in the hearts of the people with simple but warm humane actions, in line with President Ho Chi Minh's ideology: The People's Public Security must be absolutely loyal to the Party, devotedly serve the People and always rely on the People to complete their tasks.

Simple but warm stories

One night in July 2025, when the fog was still covering the area, a patrol team from Bao Thang Commune Police discovered a young man unconscious on the side of the road after an accident. Without hesitation, they immediately verified his identity, found his address, and brought the victim, Ly Van Ke, born in 2003, home safely.

“If the police hadn’t helped that day, I don’t know what would have happened to my son. My family is very grateful to the police,” Ly Thi Coi, Ke’s mother, emotionally shared.

With the same heart, in Xuan Ai commune, after the storm and rain on the evening of July 31, 2025 blew off the roof of Ms. Tran Thi Thoa's house (a poor household), the police officers of Xuan Ai commune promptly arrived, both supporting the working days and contributing more materials to promptly re-roof the house.

In the scorching summer sun, drops of sweat falling on the hot tin roof were replaced by reassuring smiles from Thoa and her mother.

“The house has been firmly repaired, my children and I feel very secure. The police officers are truly a solid support for the people,” Ms. Thoa said.

In Bat Xat, every Thursday morning, the aroma of hot porridge from the "Pot of Love Porridge" Program of the Commune Police spreads throughout the Regional General Hospital.

“Seeing the patients happy when receiving porridge, we feel warm and love our job even more” – Comrade Nguyen The Tay Bac, an officer of Bat Xat Commune Police shared.

That spirit of “serving the people” is also fostered through activities of gratitude. On the occasion of the recent War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), the Van Ban Commune Police Youth Union coordinated to organize a “Reunion Meal” at the family of war invalid Luc Van Phai.

Here, the members helped the family clean the house, prepared a simple meal, and then gathered around a cozy dinner table. The image of solidarity between the army and the people sent a message of respect for the past and gratitude for the sacrifices for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Dedicated in natural disasters, close to the people

In recent times, the movement "Police officers and soldiers forever shine in the hearts of the people" has spread widely in the provincial police force. Thereby, many practical projects and tasks have been implemented.

Typically: The "Godmother" program implemented by the Provincial Police Women's Association has helped hundreds of orphans receive care, support, and monthly cash support until they are 18 years old. Or the program to support housing construction for poor households; the program to build "Lighting up the Countryside Roads" project, building rural roads... has been actively implemented by the police of communes and units, contributing to promoting the economy, society, and building new rural areas in the area.

"My family's life is still difficult, but with the help of the Commune Police, who have supported us in buying supplies and books, my children can continue to go to school with peace of mind" - Ms. Hoang Thi Quyen, Mau A Commune expressed.

In September 2024, when the circulation of storm No. 3 (Yagi) caused great damage to people and property in many localities in the province, Lao Cai Provincial Police mobilized 100% of its troops to the grassroots level, coordinated with other forces to evacuate thousands of households from dangerous areas, search for missing victims due to landslides, and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

The officers and soldiers also worked with the people to replant crops, repair roads, rebuild houses, and mobilize businesses and benefactors to support people and schools that suffered damage.

Those difficult days deepened the "military-civilian" bond and strengthened the people's trust and love for the police force.

Notably, recently, in Coc Lau commune, upon receiving news that Mr. Trang Seo Nhe (born in 1981) had fallen and suffered a serious head injury while walking in the forest, the commune police force urgently coordinated with local people to approach the scene to rescue the victim.

The mountainous terrain was difficult for cars to enter, so soldiers and locals used hammocks to carry the victim through the forest to the gathering point to take him to the emergency room in time. Thanks to that, Mr. Nhe overcame the critical condition and kept his life at the last minute.

These actions are a harmonious combination of heroic tradition and innovation in practical work. Today's generation of cadres and soldiers continue to uphold the spirit of solidarity, train political qualities, ethics, and professionalism; at the same time, replicate good models and effective initiatives in mass mobilization work, closely connecting with the people.

Lao Cai Provincial Police determined that in order to maintain security and order, they must rely on the people and gain their trust. The people's trust, consensus and affection are the solid "steel shield" and the strength for each officer and soldier to successfully complete their tasks.

From bringing victims home, re-roofing houses, giving porridge to patients, to traversing forests to rescue injured people… all show that Lao Cai police force always puts the interests and safety of the people first.

In the hearts of the people, the image of the soldiers is not only associated with the green uniform but also the warmth of helping hands, timely sharing in difficult times. That is the foundation for the provincial police force to continue to build the image of a beautiful soldier, worthy of the trust and love of the Party, State and People.
