On the morning of January 20, Tan Son Nhat International Airport - Ho Chi Minh City informed about peak service for the Lunar New Year 2025.
Accordingly, it is expected that during the peak period serving Tet, from January 14 to February 12 (from December 15 to January 15), this unit will operate more than 26,000 flights with more than 4 million arriving and departing passengers, including more than 1.5 million international passengers and more than 2.5 million domestic passengers.
The average volume during this period is forecast to be around 800 flights/day, with the peak day expected to see 970 flights. Compared to the same period in 2024, the number of flights increased by 6.25% and the number of passengers increased by 5.36%.

According to Tan Son Nhat International Airport, in the context of the port's infrastructure being limited while waiting for the T3 passenger terminal to be put into operation on April 30, 2025, during this Tet peak period, the unit will focus on optimizing operating processes, adjusting operations in a flexible manner and focusing on breakthrough solutions to improve capacity through digital transformation.
Regarding the operation plan, Tan Son Nhat International Airport has coordinated with units to develop plans and solutions to serve passengers, ensure security, order and safety during the Tet holiday.
“Due to the good preparation of infrastructure in sync with flight operations, Tan Son Nhat Airport has adjusted the announced slot parameters of some time frames to 48 flights during the day and 46 flights at night from January 21 to February 9, helping airlines increase the supply capacity by 18% compared to the previous plan to meet the travel needs of passengers,” Tan Son Nhat International Airport informed.

In addition, during this peak period, the airport will arrange forces including members of the Youth Union of Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the Youth Union of Vietnam Aviation Academy and the Youth Union of Tan Son Nhat International Airport Border Police to support passengers in the public lobby area, the security screening area and the border police area during peak hours (5am to 9am) from January 22 to 27 (December 23 to 28) and from February 1 to 3.
In addition, Tan Son Nhat International Airport has requested all non-aviation service providers, taxi companies, technology cars and service providers to commit to ensuring service quality and food safety. Car companies must commit to increasing the number of vehicles supplied by 25% compared to the number of registered vehicles.
