On the afternoon of May 21, continuing the 7th Session Program, under the chairmanship of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the 15th National Assembly continued to discuss the draft law and conduct personnel work within its authority.
At the opening session on the afternoon of May 21, the National Assembly voted to approve the adjustment of the Program of the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly with 468/469 National Assembly deputies participating in the vote in favor (equal to 96.1% of the total number of National Assembly deputies).
Accordingly, based on the Submission of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the National Assembly allows the addition of the content of approving the Prime Minister's proposal on the dismissal of the Minister of Public Security from the position of Minister of Public Security to the meeting agenda.
Previously, General To Lam - Politburo member, Minister of Public Security was highly unanimously recommended by the Central Committee to be elected by the 15th National Assembly to hold the position of President.
Late in the afternoon of May 21, the National Assembly carried out personnel work within its authority. Specifically, after listening to the Prime Minister's Report on approving the dismissal of the Minister of Public Security and the National Assembly Standing Committee's Report on the election of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term, the National Assembly discussed the above two contents in groups.
According to the program, tomorrow morning (May 22), the National Assembly will take the next steps in the process of approving the dismissal of the Minister of Public Security and electing the President. After that, the new President will take the oath of office and deliver his inaugural speech directly to the National Assembly and voters and people nationwide via television and radio.
In the working agenda on the afternoon of May 21, the National Assembly discussed in the plenary session at the hall a number of contents with different opinions of the Draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Property Auction. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai chaired the meeting.
Through the discussion, 15 opinions were expressed, highly appreciating the process of coordination, receiving and consulting many rounds, ensuring quality. The delegates all acknowledged that major policies have been adjusted and received; agreed on the scope of adjustment to handle shortcomings and problems; stipulated clearer, more public and transparent procedures, ensuring the effectiveness of asset auction work in the coming time.
Delegates also gave specific and valid opinions on chapters and provisions in the draft law such as: scope of law amendments, consistency with other laws; regulations on prohibitions, auctioned assets, starting prices, deposits and handling of deposits; regulations on auctioneers, rights of auction organizations; online auctions, handling of cases in auctions; sanctions for violations in cases where auction winners do not pay the auction winnings; transitional provisions...
Concluding the discussion, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai assessed: The opinions of the delegates are very enthusiastic and responsible, and need to be carefully studied to complete the draft law. The National Assembly Standing Committee will direct the drafting agency, the reviewing agency and relevant agencies to study and fully absorb the participating opinions to complete the Explanation Report, receive and revise the draft law and complete the draft law to submit to the National Assembly for consideration and approval.
