The boat race was held on March 22, an activity that connects island districts across the country.

The boat racing festival was attended by 6 teams from island districts in 5 provinces and cities: Con Dao (Ba Ria-Vung Tau province); Ly Son (Quang Ngai); Phu Quy (Binh Thuan); Bach Long Vi (Hai Phong); Van Don and Co To (Quang Ninh). The teams were divided into 2 groups, competing in the qualifying round. After the dramatic and exciting rounds, the teams of Van Don, Bach Long Vi, Ly Son and Phu Quy made it to the final round.

The festival is also an opportunity for districts and island cities to connect and share experiences in building and firmly protecting national defense, security, and sovereignty over sea and island borders; developing tourism associated with cultural festivals; coordinating propaganda, promotion, and advertising of the tourism image of each district and island city...

The final result was that Van Don team won first prize; Bach Long Vi team won second prize; Ly Son and Phu Quy teams came in third; Co To and Con Dao won consolation prizes.

At the same time, the festival aims to share experiences in maintaining national defense, security, sovereignty over borders, seas and islands; developing tourism and sea festivals; coordinating propaganda, promotion and advertising of tourism so that people in island districts can learn, access information, visit and learn about cultural and historical traditions; sharing experiences in developing and organizing and managing sea festivals, contributing to preserving and promoting unique cultural values.
