According to a press release, Foreign Minister Jaishankar will meet Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov to discuss economic cooperation.

Besides, he will meet with his host counterpart Sergey Lavrov to discuss bilateral, multilateral and international issues.

The time-tested India-Russia partnership remains stable and resilient and continues to be characterised by the spirit of Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership, the press release stressed.

In September, Mr Jaishankar said that the India-Russia relationship may not attract much attention but is “special and stable”, adding that in many ways Moscow’s relations with the West have “broken down”.

Foreign Minister Jaishankar stressed that almost every major relationship in the past 70 years has had many fluctuations and marked ups and downs, but the India-Russia relationship is very special and stable.
