Recently, Mr. Phung The Hung (27 years old, in Bac Ly town, Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province) continued to surprise many people when he revealed that his family grew a jackfruit weighing up to nearly 70kg, breaking previous records such as the jackfruit in Lang Son and Thanh Hoa weighing 56kg.
This "super big" jackfruit was harvested by Mr. Hung's family last year.
Mr. Hung said that his family has been growing the Malaysian jackfruit tree for 8 years. In the 4th year, the tree started to bear fruit. Each crop, the tree produces 2-3 fruits, each fruit weighs about 60-70kg and is about 80cm long.
Because the fruit is big and the tree is small, Mr. Hung had to find a way to support the jackfruit, otherwise the jackfruit would be too heavy and break off. Normally, the jackfruit tree will produce fruit at the same time as the local jackfruit, or like last year, Mr. Hung's jackfruit tree produced fruit in winter.
Every time he harvests jackfruit, his family needs two people to be strong enough to support this giant jackfruit. However, because the jackfruit is long, it is not difficult to cut it open.
“Inside the jackfruit there are many segments, the segments are bright yellow, about 15-20cm long, the jackfruit fiber is also sweet. When I ate it, I found its flavor quite similar to Vietnamese jackfruit,” Mr. Hung revealed.

Every year, Hung's family splits the jackfruit into two parts, each with a little for both sides to enjoy.
This year, the jackfruit tree has not yet produced fruit. Mr. Hung guesses that it may be due to the salt rain that it will not produce fruit or will produce fruit later in winter like last year.
The super long jackfruit variety imported from Malaysia has many advantages and is suitable for the soil and climate of Vietnam.
This jackfruit variety has the characteristic of being very long and heavy when ripe, each fruit can be longer than 1m, weighing an average of 25-40kg.
Inside the jackfruit, the segments are long and thick, crunchy, delicious, with few seeds and fibers. This is also a type of jackfruit with high economic efficiency.
