Kim Tra Ward launches social security programs

Giving gifts to orphaned students in difficult circumstances at the launching ceremony

“Godmother - Sunflower Against the Sun” is a program launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union in 2021. The program “Meat Meal - Warming the Late Afternoon” was launched by the Huong Tra Town Youth Union (old) in 2017. On the implementation journey, hundreds of orphans and lonely elderly people have been supported and helped.

Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Hue - President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kim Tra Ward said that in the ward, there are 96 poor households, 58 lonely elderly people and 95 orphans. When the 2-level local government model was reorganized, some units stopped receiving help. After reviewing, there are currently 19 lonely elderly people in especially difficult circumstances and 46 orphans with no one to take care of them.

“To continue to do better in social security work, we launched the continued implementation of the programs “Godmother - Sunflower against the sun” and “Meat meal - Warming the afternoon”, calling for the joint efforts of the community inside and outside the locality. With the support of the whole society, the goal of sustainable poverty reduction and by 2030, Kim Tra Ward will have no more poor households with working capacity will soon become a reality”, Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Hue called.

At the launching ceremony, BMW Motorcycle Club Saigon presented 140 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, to lonely elderly people and orphaned students in difficult circumstances in the ward.
