Farmers' plan to restore cage farming "at lightning speed"

Việt NamViệt Nam09/11/2024

Currently, in aquaculture areas heavily affected by weather, people have gradually converted and applied more sustainable farming solutions to adapt to natural disasters.

At Mr. Hieu's household in Quang Ninh, after the storm, he quickly restored the cage system from the HDPE buoys he had previously converted.

Mr. Hieu, who has been involved in marine aquaculture for more than 20 years, said that in the area where he farms, most people are currently using cages made from hard materials such as wood, stainless steel bars, barrels, etc. These materials have the advantage of being solid and sturdy.

However, when a storm comes, these cages are very difficult to move to avoid the storm. After each big storm, aquaculture farmers suffer heavy losses. Aquaculture cages, the main source of livelihood for farmers, are severely damaged. Restoring these cages is also difficult and takes many days, many weeks and almost requires rebuilding new cages. The advantage of being sturdy has now become a major disadvantage of this type of cage.

Mr. Hieu added that he and some households had previously switched to HDPE rafts from SIAM Brothers Vietnam. In fact, HDPE modular rafts have shown to be more resistant and durable against storm impacts. The proof is that after the recent storm, the number of damaged buoys was only about 20-30%.

“The HDPE rafts of SIAM Brothers Vietnam are not only sustainable but also very easy to restore,” he excitedly shared. Thanks to the flexibility of the modular structure and the easy connection of the rafts, after the storm, he only needed to collect the broken buoys and reassemble them to restore the original state of the rafts. This helped his family's aquaculture rafts minimize damage, quickly restore their livelihoods and quickly return to production.

In addition, during the use process, HDPE floating module cages are very easy to repair. When damaged, you can actively disassemble, replace or repair damaged parts of the HDPE floating module without having to invest from the beginning like traditional cages. This helps you reduce a lot of repair and long-term maintenance costs.

According to Mr. Hieu's research, SIAM Brothers Vietnam's HDPE floating cages are made from 100% high-quality HDPE material, capable of withstanding high wind and wave pressure and good corrosion resistance, especially in saltwater environments. When using this cage, he is completely assured of its durability and longevity.

Mr. Hieu assessed that HDPE floating cages have great potential, are technologically improved, and meet the practical requirements of people in farming, restoring and maintaining long-term farming systems.

With the desire to accompany fishermen in difficult times, reduce the burden of costs, quickly rebuild livelihoods while ensuring long-term economic efficiency, SIAM Brothers Vietnam is currently implementing a program to reduce 40% of costs when purchasing HDPE floating module cages.

At the same time, SIAM Brothers Vietnam also supports technical consulting, structural design and free on-site installation for people when purchasing HDPE floating cages.

Mr. Tran Thanh Long, Sales Director of SIAM Brothers Vietnam, emphasized: “With this incentive program, we hope that HDPE floating cages will be a sustainable choice to help people overcome difficulties and continue to stick with farming for a long time. Above all, SIAM Brothers Vietnam wants to bring comprehensive farming solutions, accompanying people in bumper crops.”

With the HDPE floating modular cage solution, SIAM Brothers Vietnam hopes to bring people a quick and effective recovery solution, helping to stabilize their lives and production in the future to jointly build a sustainable development of Vietnam's aquaculture industry.
