(Dan Tri) - Old black and white photos will be restored in color by artists and given to relatives of martyrs.
On November 5, the Association of Former Police Officers of Ninh Binh Province said that the unit is coordinating with the organization Vietnamese Soldier's Heart to collect and restore the martyrs' memorial photos to give to the martyrs' families.
Lieutenant General Bui Ba Dinh, Chairman of the Association of Former Police Officers of Ninh Binh Province, said that the restoration of the portraits of martyrs contributes to paying tribute to generations of police officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the resistance wars and the fight against crime.

According to Mr. Dinh, during the resistance wars against France and the US, due to difficult socio-economic conditions and the special security features of the police force, the storage of portraits before going on duty and sacrificing oneself was very limited.
At that time, any officers and soldiers who had photos were only small black and white photos, blurred by time and years. Many martyrs had sacrificed their lives, but for many years their families still worshiped them with very old photos.
"We collect black and white memorial photos of police and military martyrs, then transfer them to the group of artists from the Soldier's Heart organization to restore them in color. After that, the association will organize a meeting event to celebrate the Traditional Day of the People's Public Security Forces, and present them to the families of the martyrs," Mr. Dinh added.

According to the Chairman of the Association of Former Police Officers of Ninh Binh Province, through the relatives, comrades of the martyrs and historical witnesses, the remaining documents and color photos after being restored will fully show the martyrs' ranks and positions.
In addition, the year of birth, year of death, summary of work and combat achievements of the martyr and related documents were also clarified.
The organizing committee has collected more than 50 black and white memorial photos of police and military martyrs in Ninh Binh. After restoration, the portraits were enlarged on A3 size formex (light and hard).
"This is a practical activity to pay tribute to generations of police officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the resistance wars and the fight against crime. Hopefully, this activity with noble humanitarian meaning will be replicated and spread throughout the country," said Lieutenant General Bui Ba Dinh.
