On the morning of April 1, Ho Chi Minh City Police held a ceremony to launch a high-point campaign to attack and suppress crime, and launched a special emulation campaign lasting 50 days and nights to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

Lieutenant General Le Hong Nam, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police, emphasized that the participation of the entire political system and the efforts of the police force have helped ensure political security and social order and safety. The fight against crime has seen strong changes, creating a continuous offensive atmosphere, contributing to curbing and reducing crime.

In April and May, Ho Chi Minh City will organize many meaningful political and cultural activities. Lieutenant General Le Hong Nam requested units to continue to synchronously deploy measures to grasp the situation and not be passive in any situation.

Units are required to absolutely protect the safety of key targets, projects, and important political, cultural, and social events of the country. Ensure security for the activities of Party and State leaders, international delegations, and people from all over the country participating in events in Ho Chi Minh City.

The special emulation campaign will combine with peaks in preventing and combating all types of crime, especially five types of high-risk crimes such as drug crimes, "black credit", street crimes, high-tech crimes and crimes with foreign elements.

Participating forces include: Criminal police, mobile police, traffic police, drug crime investigation police, fire and rescue police, and security forces at the facility.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Ngoc Hai emphasized that 2025 is a year marking many important historical milestones, with many major political events. This is an opportunity for people to review glorious history, promote patriotic traditions and indomitable spirit.

Mr. Hai highly appreciated the proactive spirit of the Ho Chi Minh City Police in implementing the special emulation campaign from April 1 to May 20, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

The Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized the need to ensure political security and social order and safety during the events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South. He called for solidarity from the entire political system and the people to bring the beautiful image of the city to international friends.

With the motto "Absolutely protect security and safety", the Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City requested departments, branches, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and People's Committees at all levels to closely coordinate with the police to ensure security for the commemorative activities.
